The next day Taehyung was sure to wake up earlier to make a good breakfast for himself and Jungkook. Whilst cooking, he suddenly started thinking about Jungkook again. Did the boy usually eat breakfast? How often did he actually eat? When would they feed him? They didn't stave him, did they?
Nah, they couldn't.
But just in case, Taehyung decided to make food for four people, just in case Jungkook would eat more than expected and wouldn't feel about it.
When Taehyung was done setting the food on the table, he went to his room to wake Jungkook where he had carried him where he could sleep comfortably whilst Taehyung slept on the sofa that night.
"Jungkookie?" Taehyung sang softly whilst stroking his hair. "Jungkook, wake up, I've made breakfast."
Jungkook seemed to have been a bit startled when he first woke up, but as soon as his eyes met Taehyung, a smile appeared on his face.
"Taehyung hyung," he mumbled through his smile.
"Come on," Taehyung smiled back and dragged him with him.
Jungkook glanced back at the bed with a frown. "Did I sleep in your bed?" he asked confused. "I don't remember falling asleep there."
Taehyung giggled at his confusion. "I know, I wanted to make you feel comfortable so I carried you there," he said with a smile. Jungkook's mouth opened, but before he had the chance to say anything, he quickly added, "but I slept on the sofa, so don't worry."
"It's not that," Jungkook said. "The sofa was comfortable, so you didn't have to," he said, "but thanks." Taehyung found his shy smile extremely cute and couldn't help but to smile himself.
They both sat down at the table Taehyung had decorated with food and they began eating. Subtly, Taehyung was watching the hungry boy, seeing how much he'd eat. He could judge how much he eats and how hungry he actually was.
"I need to go out for a little while, but you'll stay here in the meanwhile, right?" Taehyung asked during their meal. "I won't leave until a couple of hours and I can make dinner when I come back again. You can stay here for as long as you want as well, but don't leave when I'm not here, okay?" he asked just to make sure with the boy.
He nodded and smiled at him. "Thank you, hyung."
Taehyung grinned back at him satisfied.
After their breakfast, they went to watch some television until they got bored with it. None of them liked watching the screen too much and rather decided to play some games instead. Taehyung brought cards and they played a few rounds. Taehyung even taught the dark-haired male some new games and even magic tricks, which made him grin and laugh a lot.
When the time came, Taehyung left by giving the younger a goodbye hug, locked the door and drove off in his car. He put his earplugs in to call his boss on his way. It was actually Saturday and it wasn't a workday for Taehyung, but he still had to talk to his boss about Jungkook.
"Hello?" answered Mrs Kim on the other line.
"Good morning boss," Taehyung greeted politely. "Can I ask if you're home or at work at this moment?"
The woman sighed. "Why? Are you coming?" she asked tiredly.
"Yes, I need to talk to you," Taehyung answered seriously.
"I'm at work by my office now," she announced before hanging up.
Taehyung also removed his earplugs and not long after he arrived at his work building. He entered the elevator to the right floor and exited as he arrived at the right desk. He politely knocked on the door to his boss' office.
"Just come in," he heard the woman's voice on the other side of the door and he quickly entered as he closed it behind him and sat down on the chair opposite of Mrs Kim. "Good morning Taehyung," she smiled tiredly.
He nodded back. "Good morning boss."
"Now, what brings you here?" she asked.
Taehyung decided to just jump right to the point. "I found out who murdered Jeon Jungkook's parents when he was younger," he said seriously.
Mrs Kim flinched for a second before letting him continue.
"Jungkook told me himself that they threaten him to keep him quiet. He doesn't know the reason for the killing, but he's definitely certain it's them. The reason he's sent to different psychologists is that they make him keep quiet, making it seem like it's him who's sick and send him to a mental hospital later, believing I wouldn't make him speak up.
"They apparently wanted a son but didn't know it was going to be Jungkook, who's the son of the couple they killed and now they're trying to send him away in a natural way to not ruin their image. Therefore they're also abusing him mentally, physically...and sexually."
Taehyung's boss folded her hands together and brought them up to her face as she rested her head on them. "Did Jungkook tell you this last session? And you aren't telling me this until now?" Mrs Kim was dead serious, and if glares could kill, Taehyung was long dead already.
"N - No," Taehyung stuttered from his boss' glare. "Actually, Jungkook appeared by my house last night and told me everything then." His ears went bright red. Embarrassing.
Mrs Kim's eyebrows rose. "He...went to your house?" she asked with a serious frown. "How does he know where you live, Taehyung?"
Taehyung was scared shitless, even though he hadn't done anything wrong. "You - you're wrong!" he suddenly yelled whilst standing up nervously. "It's just a coincidence! He saw me one night entering my house whilst he was walking around. It was a total coincidence, believe me!" Taehyung boasted.
Mrs Kim started chuckling amused. "I believe you Taehyung. I know you're not that kind of man," she smiled satisfied by his nervousness. "But this is serious business. Are you sure he's right though? He's just not blaming everything on them for revenge?" she asked, totally serious again.
Taehyung nodded. "I'm sure. I asked him the same thing, but I could tell he was telling the truth. I know him now - well enough to tell when he's lying or not."
Mrs Kim nodded whilst noting down something on her writing block. "Is he at your house now?" Taehyung nodded. "All right, you can't let him go back there, for his own safety. He might even lose his life for all we know," she muttered, thinking hard.
"What do I do with him? I'm so afraid they'll do more to him, but we don't have any legal proof of them, at least yet," Taehyung sighed, almost starting to cry again because of anxiety.
Mrs Kim cleared her throat before speaking again. "Try and convince his foster parents about Jungkook being away for a good reason so they won't report him gone. Tell me if they won't give in and I'll try to talk to them," she remarked. She thought for another minute before continuing. "Let him be with you at all times. Don't let him go anywhere and protect him at all cost. Let me handle the rest, and answer all of my calls, okay?"
Taehyung nodded back as he stood up, ready to leave, but he still wanted to say one more thing. "Oh, and boss?" he asked, making her look up from her computer screen. "Can we keep this a secret from Jungkook? That I told you this?"
She smiled warmly back. "Of course Taehyungie."
I'm glad I told my boss, he thought to himself as he exited her office, ready to go home again to where Jungkook was. He sighed relieved. He was still nervous about Jungkook might finding out Taehyung told his boss. Or more correctly: when he'll find out.
