Taehyung and Hoseok returned to the table, drinks in hand. The atmosphere was lively, with Jimin animatedly sharing a story whilst Yoongi listened with a slight smirk on his face. Jungkook was watching them, a small smile on his lips, but Taehyung could see the tension lingering in his eyes.

"Coffees are here!" Taehyung announced, placing the cups in front of everyone. "I got some tea for Jungkook and, of course, some of our favourites for the rest of us."

"Awesome," Jimin said, clapping his hands. "Thanks, Taehyung. So, what were you and Hoseok whispering about? Planning a secret mission?" He wiggled his eyebrows playfully.

Hoseok chuckled, rolling his eyes. "Just discussing how Taehyung's been secretly training for the Olympics in stealth."

"Very funny," Taehyung replied, trying to suppress a smile. He was glad to see Jungkook looking more relaxed, at least for the moment. "Nothing too secretive, I promise. Just some friendly banter."

As the conversation flowed, Taehyung kept an eye on Jungkook, who was gradually becoming more engaged. He laughed softly at Jimin's antics, his shyness melting away bit by bit. Taehyung couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth watching him interact with their friends.

After a few rounds of light-hearted banter and playful teasing directed at Taehyung - especially from Jimin - Yoongi leaned back in his seat, a sly smile on his face. "You know, you should really let Jungkook take the lead next time you go grocery shopping, Taehyung. I bet he'd pick out some interesting snacks."

"Really? What kind of snacks?" Jimin interjected, looking curious.

Jungkook's cheeks turned a shade of pink, and he glanced down at his drink, shyly admitting, "I... I like sweet things. Like gummies."

"See?" Yoongi pointed at Jungkook, grinning. "He's already proving he has better taste than you, Taehyungie."

"Hey! I just have a refined palate," Taehyung shot back playfully, feeling a mix of pride and affection for Jungkook. "But gummies are definitely a good choice."

The teasing continued, but amidst the laughter, Taehyung felt a twinge of guilt creeping in. He wanted Jungkook to feel safe and included, but he couldn't shake the worry that still hung over them. He glanced at Hoseok, who met his eyes, silently conveying that they would need to be vigilant.

Eventually, Jimin leaned over to Jungkook, his curiosity evident. "So, Jungkook, what do you think of hanging out with us? We're a pretty fun group, if I do say so myself."

Jungkook bit his lip, looking unsure, but Taehyung jumped in, wanting to reassure him. "They really are nice people, Jungkook. It's good to have friends, especially right now."

Jungkook looked around at the group, his expression softening. "I... I think it's nice. Everyone seems really friendly."

"That's the spirit!" Jimin exclaimed, clapping Jungkook on the back, causing him to nearly spill his drink. "And don't worry, we're just here to have a good time, no pressure."

Taehyung couldn't help but smile at how well Jungkook was fitting in, but he remained aware of the lingering dangers outside their bubble. He wanted to enjoy the moment, but the urgency of their situation still loomed over him.

As the day progressed, laughter filled the air, and for the first time in a while, Taehyung felt a semblance of normalcy. He hoped that, despite everything, they could find a way to keep Jungkook safe and happy.

The atmosphere continued to brighten as the group laughed and joked, the clinking of glasses and the scent of food creating a cosy backdrop. Taehyung couldn't help but feel grateful for the distraction. It was a reminder that life could still hold moments of joy, even in the midst of the chaos they were facing.
