Taehyung's heart pounded as he struggled to push himself upright, leaning heavily against the wall to steady his trembling frame. Every muscle in his body protested, the ache in his head throbbing with each movement, but he couldn't let that stop him. Jungkook was out there, taken, and the horror of what could be happening to him fueled Taehyung's determination.
Finally, he fumbled his way to his phone, hands still shaking as he scrolled through his contacts until he found Detective Park's number, which he had given him after yesterday's visit. Taking a steadying breath, he pressed the call button and brought the phone to his ear, praying the detective would answer quickly.
After a few rings, a gruff but familiar voice answered, "Detective Park."
"It's Kim Taehyung," he said, his voice cracking with urgency. "Please, I need your help - Jungkook's been taken. Intruders broke into my apartment and kidnapped him. I... I couldn't stop them."
There was a pause, then a shift in the detective's tone, sharp and focused. "Where are you right now, Taehyung? Are you hurt?"
Taehyung swallowed, trying to gather his thoughts. "I... I'm okay. Just a little disoriented, but I don't need medical help. They hit me, but I'm fine. They took Jungkook... we have to find him!"
"Alright, listen carefully," Detective Park's voice was calm yet firm. "Stay where you are. I'll be there soon, and I'll bring backup. We'll work on getting any surveillance from nearby and start tracking them immediately. Do you have any idea who might have sent them?"
Taehyung's mind went straight to Mr. Yoo. The men who'd broken in weren't subtle in their actions, nor did they care about being seen; it felt like a desperate attempt to regain control over Jungkook. "I'm certain it's his adoptive father, Mr. Yoo. He's threatened Jungkook before, and I know he'd go to any length to take him back. You need to hurry... I'm afraid of what he might do."
"Understood. Sit tight, Taehyung. I'll be there as soon as possible. Don't try to do anything alone - wait for us, and we'll get Jungkook back safely."
As Taehyung ended the call, he took a shaky breath, still reeling from the gravity of the situation. He forced himself to stand, a determined resolve settling in. He wouldn't just sit and wait - he'd be ready to do whatever it took to help bring Jungkook back.
Taehyung paced around in the apartment, a tight knot of dread churning in his stomach as he replayed the scene over and over. The quiet morning had shattered in an instant, the sounds of scuffling and muffled yells echoing in his mind. His apartment felt hauntingly empty without Jungkook, a reminder of how vulnerable they'd been.
Minutes ticked by, each one feeling like an eternity, until finally, a knock at the door made him jump. Taehyung moved quickly, opening it to see Detective Park standing there, flanked by two officers. Relief mixed with desperation washed over him as he ushered them inside.
"Taehyung, are you alright?" Detective Park asked, scanning him with a concerned look.
"Just dizzy," Taehyung replied, forcing himself to focus. "I can still help. I want to do whatever I can to find him."
The detective nodded and motioned for one of the officers to stay with Taehyung in case he needed medical attention whilst he spoke with the other, gathering the necessary details. They moved quickly, sweeping the apartment for any evidence the intruders might have left behind.
Detective Park returned shortly, his expression serious. "We'll look into security footage around the area to see if we can identify the vehicle they used or any recognizable faces. You mentioned Mr. Yoo - are you certain he's behind this?"
