Taehyung arrived at the rendezvous point just outside the warehouse district, where Detective Park and a team of officers were going over their strategy. The air was thick with anticipation, and the nearby streetlights cast long shadows over the parked vehicles, adding to the sense of urgency. Taehyung's heart pounded as he approached Detective Park, who greeted him with a firm nod.
"Taehyung," Detective Park said, pulling out a blueprint of the warehouse. "We're going to need your cooperation to keep this as discreet as possible. Based on our intel, Jungkook is likely being held on the second floor in a locked office. Mr. Yoo has guards stationed at key entry points, and there are surveillance cameras inside. Getting in without triggering an alert will be tricky."
Taehyung scanned the blueprint, mind racing as he mentally traced the paths they'd need to take. "Do you have a plan for disabling the cameras?"
Detective Park nodded. "We've got someone on that. We'll disable the main feed just before we go in. But, Taehyung, I need you to follow my team's lead. Your presence could be a risk if things get heated, so please let us handle the heavy lifting."
Taehyung's jaw clenched, but he nodded. "I understand. I just... I need to be there for him."
The detective softened for a brief moment. "I know. We're aiming to get both Jungkook and enough evidence to implicate Mr. Yoo. My team will record everything we can during the extraction - both video and audio - so we have concrete proof of his involvement. Now, here's the plan."
Detective Park laid out the specifics: a two-team approach, with one squad entering through a back door whilst another created a distraction near the main entrance to divert the guards. Taehyung would follow Detective Park and his team, who would go straight for the office where Jungkook was supposedly held.
"Once we're inside," Detective Park continued, "our priority is to get Jungkook out safely. The secondary goal is securing any documents or equipment that can link Mr. Yoo to his network of illegal activities. We'll move fast - he won't have much time to react."
Taehyung took a deep breath, willing himself to focus on the plan rather than his racing thoughts. "Let's do this," he said, his voice steady, his resolve firm. The image of Jungkook alone and terrified spurred him on; he couldn't bear the thought of failing him again.
Detective Park gave the signal, and they moved quietly toward the warehouse under the cover of darkness. As they reached the back door, Taehyung held his breath, ready to face whatever lay on the other side, his only thought Jungkook's safe return.
As they approached the back door of the warehouse, Taehyung's heart raced in sync with the thumping in his chest. Detective Park motioned for the team to halt. They gathered in a huddle, going over the final details of their plan. Taehyung felt a mixture of adrenaline and fear coursing through him; he couldn't shake the images of Jungkook's terrified face from his mind.
"Remember, once we're inside, keep the noise to a minimum," Detective Park instructed, his tone low and serious. "Stick to the plan, and we'll get Jungkook out safely."
With a nod from the team, they moved closer to the door. Taehyung could see the dim light seeping through the cracks, and his breath caught in his throat. He wanted to scream Jungkook's name, to assure him that help was coming, but he knew they needed silence. The detective pulled out a small device and disabled the alarm system before gently pushing the door open.
Inside, the warehouse was dimly lit, the smell of dust and oil hanging heavy in the air. Taehyung felt a chill run down his spine as he stepped inside, his senses heightened. The atmosphere was thick with tension; every creak of the floorboards beneath his feet made him hyper-aware of their surroundings.
