The soft morning light filtered through the curtains, illuminating the guest room where Taehyung and Jungkook lay nestled in each other's warmth. The peaceful silence was abruptly shattered by the shrill ringing of Taehyung's phone on the bedside table, startling both of them awake.

Taehyung groaned softly, fumbling for the phone, whilst Jungkook blinked sleepily beside him, his expression a mix of confusion and concern. "Who is it?" Jungkook mumbled, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

"It's Detective Park," Taehyung replied, his voice thick with drowsiness. He answered the call, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep. "Hello?"

"Taehyung, are you and Jungkook safe?" Detective Park's voice was urgent yet calm.

"Yes, we're okay," Taehyung assured him, glancing at Jungkook, whose eyes widened at the mention of the detective. "What's going on?"

"We've just arrested Mr. Yoo along with his wife," Detective Park said, and Taehyung felt a rush of relief wash over him. "There's going to be a hearing soon, and I hope you both can attend to give your testimonies."

Taehyung's heart raced. "Of course. When is it?"

"The hearing is scheduled for next week. I'll send you the details," Detective Park replied. "And we have gathered evidence linking them to the murder of Jungkook's parents as well."

Taehyung felt a surge of emotions at the confirmation. "Thank you, Detective. That's - "

"Just hang in there, okay? We're making progress," Detective Park interrupted. "I'll be in touch."

After hanging up, Taehyung turned to Jungkook, who was still sitting up in bed, his expression expectant. "They've arrested Mr. Yoo and his wife," Taehyung announced, unable to contain the smile spreading across his face. "There's going to be a hearing next week, and they have found evidence about your parents' murder."

Jungkook's eyes widened, disbelief flickering across his features. "Are you serious?"

Taehyung nodded, the weight of their conversation sinking in. "Yes! We're finally going to get justice."

In an instant, Jungkook's eyes brimmed with tears. "I can't believe it," he whispered, his voice breaking. The happiness of the moment overwhelmed him, and tears began to roll down his cheeks. "I - I feel like I can finally breathe. After all this time... I never thought it would actually happen."

Taehyung's heart ached at the sight of Jungkook's tears, but they were tears of relief, of freedom from the past that had haunted him for so long. He reached out, pulling Jungkook into a tight embrace, their bodies fitting perfectly together. "You deserve this, Jungkook. You deserve to be free and happy."

Jungkook nodded against Taehyung's shoulder, sobbing softly as he let the emotions flow. "Thank you for believing in me, hyung. For everything."

"I'll always believe in you," Taehyung promised, squeezing him tighter.

As they held each other, the weight of their struggles felt lighter. For the first time in a long while, hope flickered in Jungkook's heart, one where Jungkook could finally be free.

Jungkook's sobs gradually subsided, leaving a quiet peace in their embrace. Taehyung pulled back slightly, brushing a few stray tears from Jungkook's cheeks with his thumbs. He smiled softly, trying to lighten the mood. "You know, it's not every day you get to be free of your worst nightmare."

Jungkook chuckled softly through his sniffles, a hint of mischief shining in his eyes. "And I have you to thank for that, hyung."

Taehyung felt his heart flutter at the affectionate title, but he quickly composed himself. "Just doing what any decent human would do," he replied, though deep down, he knew his feelings for Jungkook ran far deeper.
