"Who are you?" Taehyung asked, trying to keep his voice steady as he stepped forward, instinctively placing himself between Jungkook and the stranger.

"I'm Detective Park," the man replied coolly, showing his badge. "I'm here to ask some questions about a certain individual."

The room fell silent, and Taehyung's blood ran cold as he realised they were about to be pulled into something far deeper than any game or casual gathering.

The atmosphere in the room shifted dramatically, the laughter and lighthearted banter quickly replaced by a heavy silence. Taehyung's heart pounded in his chest as he stepped further in front of Jungkook, instinctively wanting to protect him from whatever was coming.

"Detective Park?" Taehyung repeated, trying to keep his voice steady. "What do you want with us?"

Detective Park, with his sharp gaze and authoritative demeanour, glanced at the group, observing the situation. "I need to ask some questions regarding Jeon Jungkook," he stated, his tone leaving no room for doubt about the seriousness of the matter.

At the mention of Jungkook's name, Taehyung felt a rush of anxiety wash over him. He turned slightly to look at Jungkook, whose face had gone pale. He could see the fear in Jungkook's eyes, and it made his protective instincts flare.

"What's this about?" Taehyung asked, trying to maintain a calm front. "Jungkook hasn't done anything wrong."

Detective Park raised an eyebrow, his expression unreadable. "I'm not here to accuse anyone. We're just trying to gather information about a case involving his family." He paused, glancing around the room. "This might not be the best environment for this conversation. Can we speak privately?"

Hoseok, who came out from the bathroom, spots the tall man by the entrance and quickly reads the situation. "It's okay Taehyung, I know him. He does his job well," he quickly informs him.

Taehyung exchanged worried glances with the others. "Is it really necessary to talk about this here?" he pressed, not wanting to expose Jungkook to anything that might add to his anxiety.

"I understand your concern, but it's crucial we get this sorted out," Detective Park replied, his demeanour firm but not unfriendly. "It would be better for everyone if we could have a moment alone."

Reluctantly, Taehyung nodded, knowing he had little choice. "Alright, just give us a moment."

He turned back to the group, his voice low and urgent. "Everyone, please stay calm. Jimin, can you and Yoongi take Jungkook into the kitchen for a minute? I'll handle this."

"Wait, what? Why?" Jimin asked, confusion clear on his face.

"Just trust me," Taehyung said, trying to convey the gravity of the situation without alarming them further. "I'll explain everything later."

Jimin and Yoongi exchanged looks but nodded, leading Jungkook away from the living room along with Hoseok. Taehyung watched them go, his heart heavy with concern for Jungkook. He knew he had to protect him at all costs.

Once they were out of earshot, Taehyung turned back to Detective Park, trying to keep his expression neutral. "Now, what is this about?"

The detective folded his arms, studying Taehyung with an intensity that made him uneasy. "I'm investigating a case of potential abuse and corruption linked to Mr. Yoo and his wife. We have reason to believe that Jungkook is at risk. I need to know if he's safe and if you have any information that could help."

Taehyung felt a surge of protectiveness, his mind racing. "Jungkook is safe here with me. I've been looking after him since he left his home. But what do you know about Mr. Yoo?"
