As Jimin parked the car outside his house, Taehyung and Jungkook stepped out, feeling the weight of the day slowly lift from their shoulders. Jimin, ever perceptive, didn't press them for details, understanding that they had been through hell and back. Instead, he led them inside, his demeanour lightening the atmosphere that had felt so heavy just moments before.

"Okay, you two," Jimin said, guiding them down the familiar hallway. "You can stay in the guest room. Just make yourselves at home. I'll be right here if you need anything." His voice was warm, his smile reassuring.

Taehyung nodded gratefully, and as they entered the guest room, a sense of calm washed over him. It wasn't his first time in Jimin's house; the familiarity of the space soothed his frayed nerves. The soft, pastel colours of the room and the faint scent of lavender made it feel welcoming, a stark contrast to the chaos they had just escaped.

Jungkook stepped inside, his eyes scanning the room before settling back on Taehyung. The adrenaline from the day still pulsed through their veins, making everything feel hyper-focused and surreal. They were safe now, at least for the moment, and that realisation struck both of them with a wave of relief.

Without thinking, Taehyung stepped closer, wrapping his arms tightly around Jungkook. "I'm so sorry," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I never wanted this to happen. I should have protected you."

Jungkook melted into the embrace, his sobs muffled against Taehyung's shoulder. "It's not your fault, hyung," he replied, his voice shaky but sincere.

But the guilt still gnawed at Taehyung. He held Jungkook tighter, wanting to shield him from the world, from everything that had threatened to tear them apart. Their emotional turmoil hung in the air, creating a bubble around them as they stood in silence, their hearts racing in unison.

When they finally pulled back, Taehyung looked into Jungkook's eyes, searching for any lingering fear. Instead, he found something else - an understanding, a connection that felt deeper than ever. They both breathed heavily, the moment stretching between them.

Then, with a quiet confidence, Jungkook leaned in, his lips brushing softly against Taehyung's. The kiss was tentative at first, filled with the weight of their emotions, but as it deepened, it became a promise - a promise of safety, of trust, and of something more.

When they finally pulled away, both of them were breathless, their foreheads resting against each other. "I'm just glad you're here," Taehyung murmured, his thumb brushing gently over Jungkook's cheek, wiping away a stray tear.

"Me too," Jungkook replied, a small, shaky smile breaking through his lingering fear. "I'm not going anywhere."

They stayed there for a moment longer, wrapped in each other's warmth, feeling the world outside fade away

As Taehyung and Jungkook settled into the cosy guest room, the air was thick with a mixture of relief and unspoken emotions. The kiss lingered in both their minds, a reminder of their connection amid the chaos that had them trapped. Jungkook leaned against the wall, trying to catch his breath, whilst Taehyung paced the room, his thoughts racing.

Once they had both taken their showers in the guest bathroom, the steam lingered in the air, wrapping around them like a comforting blanket. Taehyung emerged first, pulling on a plush bathrobe that felt warm against his skin. He ran a hand through his damp hair, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. It was a small break after the chaos of the day.

As he turned to check on Jungkook, he noticed the way the robe hung loosely around his frame. Something in Taehyung's chest tightened at the sight; the hint of vulnerability was more pronounced now. It wasn't until Jungkook moved to adjust his robe that Taehyung caught a glimpse of a bruise peeking out from beneath the fabric - a barely visible mark that set alarm bells ringing in his mind.
