"Time to wake up, Mute. You can't sleep in forever, you know." A voice called out to the resting girl, Mute, as she was lying on the floor with one of her arms shielding her eyes. Lifting her arm up, the sun blinded Mute, causing her eyes to squint due to the sunlight hitting her face.

Mute was what she was called. And that was her name. Mute. But she never talked.

She sat up from her resting position and looked at her friend, Yae Miko, with a long blank stare. "Don't give me that look. You were the one who decided to stay out all night for God knows what this time." Miko said before walking off. Yae Miko is a shrine Maiden in London. Strange, isn't it? Well, there was a reason. She also happens to be a publisher who has written some of the best, thrilling, and outstanding novels. "You were the one who wanted to come here in London to get away from things. This was your decision. Don't back out of it now since you were so confident before."

Mute's friend teased. Mute stretched her arms out and groaned, not liking how the sun was out and shining down. 'I often forgot why I chose this place out of all places...' Mute thought to herself, replying to Miko's comment. 'And she knows I barely sleep, but she loves to tease.' Mute looked at her friend before sighing to herself before dragging herself to where Miko was.

The two have been friends for so long that they treat each other like relatives. But Mute was only staying with Miko since Miko insisted. This was Mute's temporary home.

Mute walked to where Miko was, who was standing right outside, enjoying the afternoon breeze. "You shouldn't waste your day away being indoors so you can wait for the night to reveal itself. Even you know good things also come and happen while the sun is out." Miko lectured while turning to her silent friend who gave her a blank stare.

'What is she on about now?' Mute wondered. She's use to Miko's lectures and would usually understand them. But today she was in no mood to figure out what Miko was talking about this time.

"What I am saying is you should try to spend your time out during the day instead of at night, Mute." Miko got to the point, as if she had read her friend's mind. Mute blinked at Miko's words before sighing to herself once again. Taking her friend's advice, she decided to do just that. Mute walked passed Miko and exit the household. "Oh? Going out for a stroll? What changed your mind?" She asked playfully, having Mute roll her eyes.

Mute left the household and went back into the city. But she ignored everything and everyone. She wasn't interested in what was going on with other people. But what was on her mind was the other night. That aura. So dark. Cold. But also, bittersweet. But she had no idea it would come from such a creature like the one she laid her eyes upon. As she thought it was almost too good to be true. But she knew she had to let it go at some point. 'Nothing lasts forever.'

Mute hummed as her head suddenly turned to the forest. She felt as if something was odd. So, her curiosity had overwhelmed her and decided to take a stroll. "Drive faster! It's coming!" She heard somebody scream.
