"Quite lively out today. Wouldn't you agree, Mute?" Miko looked over her shoulder and smiled at her friend. Mute followed her silently with her eyes looking at the ground. "Are you sure you're alright? You can always return back to the house."
Mute could only shake her head no as she continued to walk behind her. Her eyes glanced over to the busy people passing by each other in the streets as she thought, 'Why are there so many people out? I wonder...' It did seem like more people were out today than usual. Because Mute wasn't a day person, she isn't use to seeing this many people while being out. Only about 3 or 4 people she would see. Couples. Families. But not a crowd. She isn't quite used to them.
"Oh?" Miko spoke out in a soft tone as she stopped in her tracks. Mute stopped walking at the same time Miko had stopped her movements and looked toward the same direction she was looking at. There was a crowd of people gathering by an alley that was blocked off by yellow tape. "What a horrible sight."
Looking more closely inside the alley, Mute could spot a bloody body covered by a white sheet. 'A murder.' She could only guess. Her eyes wandered to the number of people who were closest to the body. Mute blinked when seeing him again. Sebastian stood by Ciel Phantomhive as Ciel was speaking or discussing something to Scotland Yard.
Not wasting another moment, Mute began walking again to avoid being seen by Sebastian. The moment she saw, a strong sensation came from him. She didn't want to stick around for much longer. Miko followed after her without saying a word. "It looks like they have this handled then. What a mess." Miko comments.
As they were walking away, Mute's own aura was left behind momentarily, just long enough for Sebastian to catch a whiff. He turned his head to where she was seconds ago and smirked. He liked how his prey was close by. If he wanted to, he would have gone for the chase and snatched her in a mere of seconds. But as his role as a butler, he had to play his part well.
Mute and Miko had returned home as Miko was rambling and lecturing about the errands they did today. "Jack The Ripper is what they are calling the murderer. It's not the kind of title I would describe it. They should have picked another name."
"Mhm." Mute hummed while nodding her head before proceeding to going up to her room.
"Mute. Do you remember why I go out during the day?" Miko questioned, causing Mute to stop in her tracks and to turn to look at her. "Because it causes less suspicion around others." She finished her sentence with a smirk while putting a finger to her lips. Mute stared at her blankly for a while before giving her a nod, letting her know that she understood. She proceeded up the stairs to go to her room and closed the door behind her once she had entered. Mute climbed into her bed before curling up, but not going to sleep or not.
She knew tonight she would have to go back out instead of being isolated in her room. She wanted to go out. She felt more active during the nighttime anyway. Being out during the day is exhausting enough with so many people around. So, it was decided. Tonight, Mute will go out to try and enjoy her alone time. The night was always peaceful to her.
As soon as the sun had set and the night sky arrived, Mute left the household and out to wander. She spent most of her time in the darkest part of the forest. Sometimes, she would dance, twirl, and hum a soft lullaby or tune. Whatever came to her mind first to break the silence.
As she roamed the night, she saw lights shining from a distance. To curiosity, she decided to take a peek of what it was. Mute walked closer to the dim light and discovered it was a mansion. 'An event this late at night?' She questioned.
Mute had no trouble slipping through the front doors with her ability. Instead, there were many people drinking, conversing, and dancing with fine music playing. Mute had never seen a gathering like this. She didn't know that people would still be this active at night. Then again, she was never a people person either. But with the night still young, why not stick around and browse around for a bit? What was the harm?
With the outfit she usually wore, she blended right in with the crowd. Mute has never seen so many people gathered in one place. She couldn't help but walk around and take in many scenes as she could before she decided it was time to leave. 'This almost looks like fun...' She thought.
Mute found herself on the balcony and stared at the starry sky above. She thought being here was fun. Even if it's for a little while or knew if tonight was only for 1 night, Mute was enjoying herself. She hadn't felt like this in so long.
Suddenly, her eyes widened and turned around. Before she could make another move, she was cornered by the creature she didn't want to run into. But she never expected to run into him in a gathering like this. "Again, we meet." Sebastian pressed himself against the girl as his arms wrapped her against the balcony railing. "I didn't think I would find you here. Looks like I underestimated." He said while smirking down at the woman.
His eyes were filled with want now that he had her this close again. This time, he wasn't going to let her escape. Even now, being so close to one another, the aura between the two lingered. Mute could feel it but wanted to escape. She quickly turned while at the same time Sebastian pressed his body closer, trapping her body completely and filling in the space between them.
Sebastian held her from behind, wrapping one of his arms around her waist as his other hand rested on the failing. "Do you plan to escape by using the same method you used last time? I admit it caught me off guard and by surprise. You showed no mercy towards me. A ruthless creature you might be...yet your aura is so intoxicating..." Sebastian whispered his last sentence into her ear.
You're mine
Mute silently shuddered at his words. She could use the same method from the other night, and she didn't care about exposure. She can be fast and easy without a blink of an eye. She has him right where she wants him in order for her plan to work. She didn't care how strong he was. She could get out of this without a problem. Yet, for some reason, she couldn't move.
'Something is different. I can't...pull away... Why?' Her body stood still as a rock as the demon behind her held her close against him. Why couldn't she move? She wasn't drugged nor did she drink anything while being at this late-night event. So why couldn't she move and escape? Something felt off to her. 'What...is this feeling?'
This sensation to her was different. It wasn't his aura. Something was making her still. But what could it be? Something was preventing her to go along with the same method she had in mind.
"The night is still long, Milady. We have all the time in the world to enjoy each other." He whispered in her ear, causing her to close and shift her body with discomfort.
Don't be a tease~
Without giving it a second thought, Mute's body turned into a mist and disappeared into the night.
No reaction came from Sebastian when this happened. He could only stare at where she was once standing before frowning in disappointment. He had lost her again. After when he thought tonight would for sure be the night, he would have her. For now, he had to return to being a butler and attend to his master who is about to be sold in a private meeting with Viscount Druitt.
