Chapt. 46 ~ Expect The Unexpected

~Mute's POV~ 

It was cold out as Miko and I were on our way to the Circus to meet up with Ciel and Sebastian. Miko insist she come with me tonight because she still wary about any ambushes that may or may not happen tonight. I didn't want to fight her on it once she made up her mind. 

So many people showed up to watch Noah Arc's Circus perform tonight. Men, women, & children. "Is this circus that big of a deal to gather this many people?" Miko questions while looking among the crowd of people around us. I nod my head in response, telling her yes. If only she was with me the night I snuck out of the house. "There they are." Miko lifts her hand, greeting Ciel and Sebastian were just up ahead waiting beside the entrance for us. "Shall we go inside?" She gives the two gentlemen a kind smile. 

"Ladies first." Sebastian bows. I mentally sigh to myself and follow Miko inside the large tent to find our seats. Inside the tent seemed massive, crowded with so many seats and a ring in the center that is spacious and wide. Miko sits to my left while Ciel sits to my right, and Sebastian sits to Ciel's right. The lights dim and in the center of the ring is the same man I saw that night. Ginger hair, funny clothing, and a skeletal hand. 

"Ladies and gentlemen! Thank you for coming to tonight's performance where we will amaze you all with some of our world's greatest talent performers!" He announces to the crowd. Behind him I can make out of the performers he was talking about making their appearances. Suddenly fire is ignited behind the man, Joker, startling him and having him run off as the lights dim again, and brighten once more to reveal to people swinging from up above. "First up with our Tapeze artist, Peter and Wendy!" 

Wendy is a brunette girl with brown eyes, while Peter is a blonde boy with emerald eyes. They both look to be of the same age, and I don't recall their silhouettes in my vision. Next was a knife thrower, Dagger. A young boy with blonde hair and blue eyes. Another man with gray hair and has the eyes and literally name of a snake, Snake. The Serpent Man. 

"Can you recall any of them from your vision?" Miko whispers to me as her eyes are focused on the performance. I shake my head, no, while closing my eyes. 

"And there are no children here that I can detect, other than the ones who came here with their loved ones." Sebastian adds, invading our conversation. 

"Up next is our Tightrope Walker, Doll!" Joker announces and the lights flash onto a young girl dressed in white walking on a tightrope while slowly doing the splits and backflips. 

"Flexible." Miko comments while arching a brow in amusement. 

"And last but least, the tamer of wild cats, Beast!" Another young woman with black hair and red eyes cracks the whip at her tiger named, Betty, to jump through the ring of fire. Joker once again announce for a volunteer from the crowd for the next act. 

'If there are no children being held here, is it possible they are being kept somewhere else?' I wonder in thought. If that were the case, I would have to get closer. Much closer... I turn my head to Sebastian to see him already looking at me with a hard stare. We are probably thinking the same thing. "I need to get closer." I link my mind to his. He nods his head and stands up from his seat without saying a word.
