Chapt. 29 ~ All Aboard!

'I don't need to know what happened with Ciel's soul. But if I want to get close to Alois without any problems, I will have to stay close. After all... Sebastian has to handle his own business with a species of his own.' Mute stared in thought before boarding the train. She decided to go with Ciel and Sebastian on this so-called 'vacation'. 

"It's quite a surprise to see you joining us, Mute. What do I owe the pleasure?" Ciel questioned as he sat across from her. 

Mute closed her eyes to connect with Ciel's mind as she replied, "Sebastian suggested I come along to relax for a change. A friend of mine once told me the same thing." 

Ciel blinked in surprise when hearing Mute's voice in his hand, then suddenly remembered exactly what she is. "Did he now?" He glances at Sebastian while giving him a stern look. 

"But," Mute opened her eyes, "Why are we really here? Does it has something to do with your duties as the Queen's Guard Dog?" 

"Of course." Ciel silently sighed in defeat. 

'I knew it.' Mute sighs to herself and leans back in her seat. 'We're really here for a kidnapped and missing child. Is the child really on this train?' Mute's eyes wandered to Ciel, then Sebastian who were still having their conversation about the missing child report. As Mute dozed off into a distance a shiver ran down her spine, but it wasn't enough to have her react. 

"Mute, what would you like to come with us while we take a tour around the train?" Ciel questioned as he stood up from his seat. Mute looked at him and nodded before following him and Sebastian. 

"Please stay close Milady." Sebastian instructed with his famous fake smile. Mute stared at him but didn't nod. The 3, or just Ciel and Sebastian traveled to the next cart while Mute went on her own little tour.

"I had a feeling you would be here. Looks like my intuition was right... Why are you here, Claude?" Mute sat across from him while he sipped his tea. Claude slowly opened his eyes and set his cup down before answering, 

"A wonderful surprise to see you again." 

'Again, like looking into a mirror... Why is he away from his master?' Mute wondered. "You are here for a reason, are you not?" 

"My..." Claude muttered out. He eyed Mute from head to chest. He has never seen a creature such as her before. "What a beautiful creature you are now that I get a closer look at you. The pleasure is all mine." 

"Spare me the formalities..." The dining the cart blackened. Thankfully it was only just the two of them in the cart. Claude kept his composure, even when this did make him flinch a little. He could feel her intense aura and gaze. Even the temperature began to drop. "Why are you here? I won't ask again." She demanded. 

"I have matters to settle with a fellow demon... If you think I am after something else, then you are mistaken. You are a not creature of our kind, so I would assume I am here for other reasons that might interfere with matters of your own. But I am not here for that."
