Chapt. 32 ~ All Good Things Must Come To An End

"I am saying we should go back and finish what I started. Don't you think?"

"I said no."

"He touched you." Miko growled, her eyes glowing purple with anger.

Mute sighs and leans back against the tree trunk. 'I already know what that means... It won't be long until I have 2 demons on me. However,' Mute looked up at the night sky with a dead stare, 'Why do I get the feeling that Spider as something sinister planned?...' She frowned with her thoughts as an uneasy feeling crawled up her spine.

"He's on the run." Miko informs while watching Ciel run through the forest, snapping out of Mute's thoughts. The two watched Ciel run further into the forest from the branches they kept themselves hidden in. Mute stands with a tired sigh. "Be careful." Miko comments.

"Mhm." The fallen angel nods her head before disappearing in a shadowy mist, following after Ciel. When he had stopped to catch his breath, Mute appeared behind him and gently set both of her hands on his shoulders from behind him. Ciel gasped and turned his head to meet Mute's calm eyes.

"It's you." He sighed in relief.

"Feeling wounded?" Alois speaks from the depths of the forest before making himself visible to Mute and Ciel. "Want me to lick it better for you?" He licked his lips. A gasp of delight left Alois's lips when his eyes met Mute's.

The woman stepped in front of Ciel protectively while holding her arm out to the side. "Enough of this. I know it's you, Alois." Ciel calls out.

"Well, in that case, I don't need this silly disguise." Alois throws the wig he was wearing onto the ground. "But I am more surprised to see you here." His eyes meet Mute's once more. "Does this mean you have sided with Ciel Phantomhive?" Slowly his eyes turned cold. 

"It does not." Mute shook her head. "Why are you after him? He has nothing to do with your revenge." 

Alois was taken aback by this. How would she know about his contract with Claude? How would she know about his intentions? "You don't know what you are talking about. Stay out of this." 

"If you plan on killing him then I have to intervene." She got in front of Ciel. "Does he have anything to do with your contract, Alois? Answer me that." 

The wind blew heavily as the tension grew bitter. Alois could only remind quiet when seeing the murderous look in Mute's lifeless eyes. "It seems Milady knows a lot more than we expected." Claude's voice rang through the thick atmosphere. He walked from behind the tree close to Alois before attaching his eyes onto Mute's cold ones. "How very interesting. It makes me wonder what you might know and hold inside of you."

His words caused Mute to take a step back. The way those words left his lips didn't leave a pleasant tension. But she kept her cold gaze on him. "What a foul thing to say to a Lady." Sebastian stepped out from behind the tree close to Ciel and Mute. "I believe we discussed what would happen if you came anywhere near My Lady."
