ANNE

After two weeks of explicit passion and torrid nights of love with Gilbert, Anne was back in Green Gables. She felt happy, but regretful at the same time, because it had been so easy to get used to the routine of waking up with her body surrounded by Gilbert's arms, and falling asleep with his kisses in her hair, that returning to the reality of her world seemed almost intolerable. Gilbert had also felt this when he had taken her to the train station, and had said to her, encircling her waist:

- Why do you have to go? Can't you stay a little longer?

- I'd love to stay, but you know I can't. I have an academic life waiting for me in Avonlea, and my exams start next Monday. - She put her arms around her fiancé's neck, and admired the brown irises in Gilbert's eyes that mesmerized her at every moment.

- Do you have any idea what it has meant to me to have you with me all these days? I've never been happier, because you make me happy Anne, you're the only reason I am who I am, because your love makes me better every day," he leaned his forehead against hers, and gripped her waist tighter.

- I loved being with you all these days, I felt so free and so myself. You also make me a better person, it was your love that taught me not to be afraid of anything and gives me the strength to continue on my journey. You are the best thing in my life. - Their lips came closer together, and they kissed, their hearts tight with the departure, but eager for the reunion that would happen soon.

- I love you. - Gilbert declared himself for what would be the hundredth time that week. He enjoyed saying those words to her as much as Anne enjoyed hearing them.

- I love you more. Please come back to me soon," Anne hugged him even tighter.

- I promise I'll be home next weekend. I can't wait to hold you in my arms again," Gilbert now stroked her face with his fingertips.

- I'll be waiting for you as always. Just promise me that time will pass so quickly that today will be our tomorrow.

- I'm already missing you, you know. Just like I'm going to miss waking up with you. Every day, every day, another kiss, and this time Anne felt the flame of passion ignite within her, and her need for Gilbert increased in that instant. But then the call from the train passengers made them part instantly, and one last hurried kiss sealed the promise that they would see each other the following weekend,

So Anne counted down the days to Gilbert's arrival, while alternating her activities between studying for exams, and helping Marilla take care of Green Gables. The rest of the time she rambled on reading her storybooks, writing poems, and spending as much time as possible with Diana, who was still working out the details for her wedding to Jerry.

And it was at Diana's house that she was at that moment, helping her choose the fabric for her wedding dress. Diana's mother would send a famous dressmaker from Charlotte Town to make the dress, because she wanted everything to be perfect at her daughter's wedding. Diana had snitched a whole week about this, because Aunt Josephine told her that she would send the dress from Paris as a gift, but Diana's mother thanked her politely saying that since Diana was her only child, she would like to gift her with the dress. Anne didn't quite believe this. Deep down she suspected that Diana's mother particularly did not trust Aunt Josephine's taste, and that was why she had declined the gift.

For this reason, both were now poring over millions of European magazines in search of the perfect dress. The worst problem at the moment was that Diana couldn't seem to make up her mind, she had refused all of Anne's suggestions, and was driving her crazy with her indecision.

Suddenly Diana stood up, throwing back her long black hair and said in despair:

- Enough of this for today. Let's eat something and talk.
