Anne settled into her chair by the pool where she and Josie were sunbathing and watching the volleyball game taking place in the water, which seemed to be quite lively. Gilbert and Muddy were each playing on a different team, and Anne was enjoying watching her fiancé play, showing off another skill she hadn't even imagined he had. She knew that he loved sports and was always involved in some activity that involved physical exertion, but she had no idea that he was an excellent lifter in the sport that was unfolding right in front of her.

Gilbert was very competitive, and although he respected his opponent, he never gave up on a move, and most of the points he scored were his. Every time a move went well, he would look at Anne and blow her a kiss, as if dedicating the point to her, and at this moment she would take the opportunity to observe him better. After almost half the day in the water, his skin was much more tanned than when he had arrived, giving it an almost golden  color, a beautiful contrast to his dark, wet hair.

Anne took a deep breath as she moved her gaze down from his chest to his ripped abdomen, the same abdomen that had been an inexhaustible source of pleasure for her last night, for it was one of the most sensitive parts of Gilbert's body, and she had made him gasp several times as she touched him, and she wanted very much to do it again right then and there. Good God! What was she thinking at that time of the afternoon? When had she become so perverted? She looked away and found Josie watching her amused.

- It seems that the evening with Gilbert Blythe was intense. - Anne blushed every last hair on her head. Josie had caught her this morning coming out of Gilbert's room, where she had spent the entire night in his arms, but her friend had said nothing. She just laughed and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. Josie knew exactly what was going on between Anne and Gilbert, so she wasn't going to play the false moralist. She had had her own sexual experiences, but unlike Anne who had been lucky enough to give herself to her true love, Josie had let herself be led astray by Billy Andrew's seductive talk and had given herself to him in a moment of insane passion, which had earned her millions of regrets. Billy had not been kind, had not cared about her inexperience, and had turned what should have been the most important moment for her into discomfort and trauma.

She had not had any kind of deeper intimacy with Muddy. It wasn't that she didn't want to experience with her fiancé what she hadn't had with Billy, but the experience had left such a negative mark on her that she preferred to wait until the wedding to be more sure of herself. Muddy understood and never pressured her about it, he was a great person who made Josie immensely happy. For this reason, she didn't judge Anne, she and Gilbert were so perfect for each other, she saw nothing wrong in wanting each other so much, although in the society where they lived, that was a tremendous scandal,

- Is it so obvious that I spent the night with him? - Anne asked worriedly.

-Of course not, Annie. Your secret is safe with me, I'll never tell anyone. But now tell me, how was it seeing the stars with Gilbert? - Josie pressed the point. Anne laughed, and thought for a few seconds about how to talk about it with Josie. Anne still found it difficult to talk about her intimacy with other people, even with Diana she felt that barrier, and it would be no different with Josie, but she still tried to answer the girl's question.

- It was quite, shall we say, instructive," she replied.

- Don't try to trick me. Anne Shirley. Don't tell me they were only holding hands and staring at the moon. - Josie said maliciously.

-Ok, all I can tell you is that it was wonderful to be with him, like every time we're together. I'll never again feel with anyone the way I feel with him. Gilbert is loving, caring and romantic, even when he says that romanticism is not for him, but being with him makes me very happy.
