The next day, the butterflies in my stomach were even worse than the day before. I knew Amy was going to drag me to that party Michael and Ashton were throwing and I didn't really want to go. I'd never even had alcohol in my life. I'd be such a lightweight and then everyone would know I was a liar.

Since nothing was happening for me and Amy in English, she decided she wanted to skip it. That left Calum and I going together instead.

"Hey Double, where's Trouble?" Mr Lavoie asked, smiling at his own joke.

"Oh god, that one's the worst by far." Calum groaned, walking to his seat.

I stopped to talk to the teacher. "She has a migraine. She's currently in the bathroom, probably sitting on the floor in a stall."

He nodded. "I understand. Well, glad to at least have one of you here."

I walked over to my seat and sat down while Calum studied me. I looked at him and raised an eyebrow.

"Nice cover." he commented quietly.

"Thanks." I said simply.

"Project time." Mr Lavoie grinned after the bell rang to signal the start of class. He looked at Calum. "Luke and Ross will be in here shortly."

I went through my binder and took out my finished report on A Midsummer Night's Dream and got up to hand it to Mr Lavoie. He smiled, nodding approvingly as he scanned it.

"Nicely done, Ackerman." he said. "Looks like you're free of work today and tomorrow."

I sat back in my seat and Calum rolled his eyes.

"You're such a goody-two-shoes." he sighed.

I bit my lip and looked away. I really had to tone it down. Soon enough, all of Amy's friends would realize I was nothing like how they thought I was and not only would they hate me, but they'd probably hate Amy and then she'd hate me too.

"I bullshitted half of it." I told him, shrugging my shoulders. "It's not hard. Plus, you just add a little extra spacing, make the font a touch bigger, and don't abbreviate anything."

He smirked and nodded. "Alright, that's pretty clever. Nicely done."

The door to the classroom opened and Ross walked in. Unfortunately, it was only Ross that walked in; Luke wasn't following behind him. Calum and I both silently groaned. I couldn't even ask to go to the library to get away from him because I'd finished my report. For once, I wished I wasn't so on top of my school work.

The class phone started ringing and Mr Lavoie got up from his chair he liked to sit in that was placed in the middle of the room, and walked over to his actual desk to take the call. He talked to whoever it was quietly before looking up at me.

"Alice, you're wanted in guidance." he reported.

I nodded, packing my stuff back in my bag and standing up.

"Aw, I was hoping to get to know you better, beautiful." Ross smirked.

"Seriously, shut the hell up, Ross." Calum told him harshly as I walked out of the classroom.

Almost immediately, I ran into someone. I back up and blushed deeply, pushing some of my hair behind my ear.

"I-I'm so sorry, I-" I began to apologize as I looked up.

Luke smiled down at me and shook his head. "Don't worry about it. By the way, guidance isn't looking for you."

I put two and two together and nodded slowly. "Oh, you called."
