The rain stopped by the time we had all rested. The bandits had elected to watch over us, Shea giving his word for them. As morning came upon us, I woke to the smell of breakfast cooking. It was already mid morning. Cordgi knelt by my head, he smirked as he rolled up his bedding

"I thought you were waking. Let's go get some coffee." He tucked his roll away inside his bag. Helping me to stand, I picked up my staff.

Ash was yawning as Scott passed him a warm cup, Flynn sat chatting with several females from the bandits. Hak caught my eye. He motioned for me to come over. He stood with three tall muscular men. I nodded to Cordgi, making sure he got a seat by the fire, before walking up to the rider.

"Zyn, I think you might..." Hak broke off as one of the men stepped past him.

"I always knew you were better than some dirt wench living in the wry." The man's face was covered with a thick dark beard, his eyes twinkled with recognition. I narrowed mine.

"I have met many Knights." I hesitated.

He laughed. It was a loud booming sound that echoed around the chamber. It sounded like it came from his toes. If he was a night... My head swung around, eyes scanning the others close by. Nearly all were looking over to us as the once proud knight laughed. I may not recall a knight...

"I never forget family!" I cried seeing the shimmering eyes watching me.

I backed away from the knight. My hand reached out past several bodies who tried to hide the dragon from me. She was small, in this form anyway. Her true form, I knew was glorious. The water dragons hand fell into mine. Her smile twinkled out of the dirt covered face.

"You remember me?" her voice was as soft as a gentle summer wind. It was how she got her name, well the name I gave her.

"Summer, when would I have forgotten?" I asked drawing her toward me. She laughed.

Her slim arms barely fit around my waist as she cling to me. Her dirty yellow head buried itself into my chest.

"Zyn, it's been to long, my brother." She tightened her hold.

I wrapped my arms around her body, pulling her tighter against me. Bending over I placed my cheek against the top of her head, I felt her body tremble slightly.

'Tell me he has been good to you.' I hissed. She chuckled.

'As good as can be expected. I am a water dragon.' She lifted her head. 'It's been awhile since we have found work.'

'Come with me, you will, both...' I rolled my eyes, she giggled. 'be taken care of.' I offered.

"Stop talking to my Nuare without me!" the knight cried.

"I really can't recall who you bounded with!" I tapped my chin as she giggled at me again.

It was a flash as I saw it. Summer was always a shy quiet dragon. She would follow me wherever I went. I was the one to train her to hunt. In fact she was in the very first group I had ever taken out on my own. Her knight was a young lad, maybe five years older than I was at the time. He was arrogant, proud, yet somehow a bit more humble than the others I had met. I actually recalled liking him a little bit.

Aside from how loud his voice was. It bounced over every surface. I would flinch whenever he opened his mouth just because of how his voice resonated around us. His name, what was his.... I stopped as I saw him in my minds eye. Summer was watching me, she smiled when I recalled the boy he used to be.

"Nort!" I cried. His booming laugh shook the walls once more.

"You do recall me!" He beamed.

"You were like me, a child from a small village, We got along alright." I rolled my eyes again.
