The library was a dragon, an air dragon. I smiled at that. She used her air magic to move the books around. Yet, the library was only her soul, her body died long ago. Then, why did she allow her soul to remain. The thoughts swirled around my head. I heard her gentle laugh.

'Your Quincy.' She told me.

She showed me! Her and Que were friends. Why wouldn't they be! Pearlescent took the young golden dragon in under her wing. She had guided the babe as Quincy would one day guide me. Yet, Que had a free spirit. She loved to roam the world. See all kinds of man! She flew with the ex King's son until he found his own Nuare.

That was how she met a soul dragon. This was one thing she had never encountered before. The large dark dragon sparkled like the night sky it fell out of. It landed before the young golden dragon.

'Que, your bond mate will not live as long as you. You will know years of suffering, but I need your help.' The legendary, no! The first ever soul dragon came to beg the golden child!

'There will be born a child of man, who bears the heart of dragon kind. They will come after the darkness falls upon our lands. A king shall be born that will destroy this happiness you and your chosen have created with his family. You must seek out others to help you. Dragons, shifters, children of man, if you can convince them to help..." The soul dragon's words died away.

'Que, you must find the Prince of Dragons! Only than shall you be able to be reunited with your Nuare after his demise.' With that the soul dragon left the young one alone with her thoughts.

As with all else, Que sought advice from her dearest friend, Pearlescent. Together, they formed a plan. A plan that bound the two dragons together. Upon the death of Pearlescent's Nuare, she gave up her body. The first soul dragon bound her spirit to the king's library. She was given the task of educating the kings until the true heir of the land could be found.

'This knowledge that you seek, I didn't have to look far for it. I have been here since the beginning, I will stay until you release me, Prince of our kind.' She insisted.

'Do you wish to be released?' I asked. I felt as if she had found her purpose here. That she liked being helpful.

She chuckled. 'You truly are the one. My doubts have been quelled.' In my head she showed herself bowing her own head to me.

'I will stay to educate the one you chose, if you promise to come back every year to ask me my choice again.' She offered.

'That sounds like a good deal.' The symbols surrounded me. I accepted my pledge. She laughed.

'Now to find out where time went wrong.' Her voice grew wispy as the witness enclosed upon me.

Within the white I saw the fire darks of ash, smoke, along with the bright red, orange, yellow of fire. I was thrust out of the swirling mass to stand upon a hill. Trighten stood at a grave side. His hand around the shoulder of a women on her knees crying. Another woman stood beside them. Her arms held back two nearly adult children, another figure stood in the shadow beside her.

"I have done as he asked." A voice spoke, as a man walked up the hill.

King Trighten turned. He gazed upon the man, years younger then his own weathered face. Reaching out he placed a hand on the newcomers shoulder.

"You were his pride, Amid." He whispered. "He was proud that you brought Devonia back to us, that you brought the dragons to them." Trighten insisted.

Amid bowed, the King of Devonia paid his last respects to his father. The scene faded away. This time it was a much older Amid, bowing before a different grave. A man stood at his side.
