This fight was going to be my learning period. I had no time to figure out how my body was to work! My wings felt powerful as they beat at the air. I rose up above them all. Looking down, my shadow covered those I cared about. They stood together, grinning like idiots, up at me. Fire rained all around us.
'Are you lot stupid! We are in a battle! LET'S FIGHT!' I roared out, at the same time I yelled at them.
My Nuare was the first to join me in the sky. I met her eye. She winked. We were one. I felt the heat along my other wing. Turning my head, I wasn't surprised to see her there. Zia smiled at me.
'You're glorious, Zyn!' she informed me.
'I have a mate, back off!' I winked.
Smoke sputtered from her nostrils as she tried not to laugh. We flew together, wing tip to wing tip. Looking down, I saw the witch. The woman that was Ammedidon's true mother. How was I going to defeat her? I wasn't even sure what this new body could do. Damn, I wasn't even sure how to turn back to my human self. I huffed out smoke.
'Relax, you're not alone.' Jawnna's soft words enveloped my racing mind.
I felt a weight land on my back. It was weird, but not too uncomfortable. Stupidly, I tried to twist my head to see who it was. Of course it would be him! What fight wouldn't I have without him at my back!
"Wicasa, you ready to unleash hell on her?" I asked him.
"Down with the bitch!" he crowed laughing.
"Witch, Wics!" I chuckled along with him.
To my shock, I realized my body was as large as the free dragons. I was a huge glowing ball of light, whipping through the sky! Like that wasn't going to attract attention! I frowned.
"The shifters are coming. They are fighting along the edges of town. Rohan and those of his village, are getting as many of the townsfolk to safety as they can.' Shea told me.
A wave of wind caught my attention, I turned to look. There, upon the rust colored beast, flew the half naked former king. I chuckled. His body rippled with muscles, sweat, and more than enough weapons to take out an army of dragons!
"Urtan, led the charge on the king's forces." I called to him.
"Merkai, fight well." I offered.
"You as well, Zyn." He swung away from us.
I felt them all. All the battles raged in my head. I knew them all, every dragon, rider, shifter, the minds touched me, they knew me. It seemed I had been preparing my entire life for this moment. The moment when I would become one of them! It was easy for me to filter through the minds, the screams, the pleas for help the calls of joy as something they did worked out for them. My entire life, I had an army inside my mind. Now, it was as easy as breathing to deal with.
This flying thing, that was a bit harder. I seemed to be tiring quicker than the dragons around me. My body was slowly sinking lower. Neffy pressed himself to the forefront of my mind.
"Use the wind. Relax into it. It will help guide you." He instructed.
"ZYN MOVE!" A bellowing cry rocked my head.
I dove! It wasn't even of my own free will. It was the command of the royal dragon. Even without the fire that made him a legacy, he still was a royal! I obeyed without question. I watched the two fire dragons fly over us. Their bodes marred in cuts, scrapes and gouges from the other, yet they still flew, they still fought. How long had it been that Zenith joined us? How long had he been at this?
"Zia, take your hell fire squad, look after him! Didn't I tell you that already?" I commanded.
"Fool, Caspera is leading them." She reprimanded me.
