Stitching. It was as it sounded, the witch sewed her own soul to that of another. She then over powered that soul. The soul would still be alive, in order to keep both the witch and the body alive. To separate them, would take an act of God like ability, if the one in power didn't want it.
"We would have to wake her first." Zelzada informed me.
"Is that even possible?" I wondered.
See the soul could still be alive, but what Zelzada wasn't saying, was the mind may be beyond saving. We could, potentially be killing an innocent. I frowned, turning to look at Elfengar.
"If we try this, you must know..." I began.
"Zyn!" Zelzada hissed.
"He needs to understand!" I cried!
We stared at each other silently. Attroxia twitched at my side. He was nervous. There was something about Elfengar that the little dragon respected. I touched his mind gently. He showed me his thoughts easily enough. Although, he had still been under two years out of his shell when he joined WREN Academy, Elfengar, had been like his Dyami. I nodded.
I walked up to the silent witch. He glanced at me. Shea sat beside him with a blank look on his face. I knelt in the dirt before him, head low.
"You're just a kid." He said in a soft voice.
"That I am." I nodded.
"You're going to tell me there isn't any hope." He stated. I shook my head.
"I'm going to ask, that if this doesn't go the way we hope, you don't take it out on us. The witch had decades to bind their souls together. That means..." I was cut off.
"That she had that long to destroy Freyda's mind." He whispered.
I nodded. We sat gazing at each other. He had a world of hurt, pain and loneliness behind his eyes. Someday, I may know that loss as well. I swallowed. My thoughts shifted to Po, Valkor, Azella... so many lost already. I hung my head.
"Teach me the spell." I told him.
He blinked. "No one can do the spell." He growled punching at the rock he sat upon.
"You said, one soul with command of all five elements could." I insisted.
"Yes. I have walked this world. Trailed over lands you wouldn't even imagine! There is no one..."
I stood up. The ground swelled up around me in the wind of the air I created. The fire leapt from my maw to blaze in the whirlwind.
"Earth, air, fire" I whispered.
Ice encased my body. It dissolved in the heat of the flames. The water rained down only upon the tornado of elements I had created. How could I show him, I also had the ability over soul?
I closed my eyes. Reaching within myself I found the spark that was my soul magic. I let it fill my body.
When I opened my eyes, Elfengar was bathed in a soft glow of silver lighting. He stood before me, mouth slightly open. One hand was on the hilt of some weapon at his side. I don't think he even knew he had placed his hand there. The other was reaching out to me. I diverted the rocks, soil and fire away from his reaching hand.
His hand touched my face. It was gentle, soft, yet calloused. He stroked my cheek as a lover would. I wanted to look away, to close my eyes and live within his touch, but the sadness in his blue eyes, held me spellbound to him.
"Its true!" He breathed out.
I released my hold on the elements. I looked at him, slightly confused.
