Brett is having a hard time.
He can't get away from the woman that has embraced him in a death trap. In the corner of his eyes he sees his friends coming to his rescue, but his line of vision is more fixed on Eddy's figure leaving the room. No! This can't be happening!
He pushes again with all his might. This time it's so hard that the woman finally loses her grip and with that her balance and falls backwards. She is narrowly saved from a fall to the ground by Vincent's quick reflexes who manages to catch her.

"Get off!" he shouts. He would like to walk up to her and shake her by the shoulders, yelling more phrases like 'What The Fuck' or 'What possessed you to do this!', but he has no time for that, he needs to get moving. So he just glares at her and runs as fast as the crowd lets him towards the hallway, in the direction where Eddy disappeared.

The woman in Vincent arms is clearly confused by the situation she is in. Mason pulls her up to her feet. "Why, woman?! He didn't give you any sign that he wanted this. Stupid brat." He yells angrily at her.
She startles and quickly gets out of Vincent's grasp. Then she walks away to her friends, clearly unapologetic and without seeing the errors of her actions.

"Jesus, what do we do?" Vincent calls.

"Like I would know?" Mason's eyes are tight. "Could the bitch have had worse timing, like, ever?"

Timo shrugs. "Clearly not. So now it depends on how Brett explains this mess to Eddy, I guess. He's not unreasonable, you know as long as he can keep his head cool. He didn't even want Brett here, he just did that because he knows Brett likes it here. But sure as hell Eddy won't like this."
Their eyes follow Brett through the crowd, as he tries to catch up to Eddy.

"Let's go after them" Luke decides. "If nothing else we can help explain."

All the friends nod and rush off.

Meanwhile Brett has arrived at the entrance of the hallway. He looks around and sees that Eddy's halfway the room. Eddy progresses slowly and struggles to get out as he wades through the crowd that enters. But Bett is better trained at this, he's also less tall and with that quicker, and on top of that he's very desperate to reach Eddy in time, so he closes in rapidly.

"EDDY!" he shouts, trying to raise his voice above the sounds of music. But Eddy seems not to hear him.
He has almost reached Eddy, when Murphy plays up yet again.
An acquaintance calls out to him loudly as he passes. It's so loud that Eddy certainly is able to hear it too.
"Hey, Brett! You're hitting it off nicely tonight! Way to go, mate!"

It looks like Eddy slows down just a little before picking up his stride again. Did he hear?

Brett glares at the man who just made it even more difficult for him now. And he would like to scream at him that that isn't what he thought he saw, that it isn't what he wanted, but the stupid bastard can sink in a hellhole for all that he cares. He needs to get to Eddy, and fast. He needs to see if he can fix things. Because didn't Eddy say: No kissing or fucking around, otherwise no chance with me. He knows Eddy. He knows he's meant it. It's was a very clear promise. Is everything ruined now?
No! Eddy has to believe him! Stupid woman!

He is just a second too late to get to Eddy before he enters the bathroom. Brett hesitates. He can't go and talk about this while Eddy is on the toilet, now can he? Ah, to hell with it. He pushes the door so hard that it slams against the wall.

"EDDY?!" But Eddy is not to be seen. Apparently he has entered one of the stalls.

So what else can he do but wait outside, hopping impatiently from toe to toe, feeling worried to the bone.
When Eddy finally comes out after what seems like an eternity, he immediately tackles him.

"Eddy! Please! It's not what it looked like! Really! Believe me! Please!?" Brett almost feels the need to drop to his knees and beg, but resist. That would be stupid and he would be making a scene. And that would so not be helping his case.

Eddy looks at him thoughtfully, walks to the sink and washes his hands. He looks at Brett in the mirror. "It's okay, Brett. I think I understand. She's really very pretty." The words are spoken calmly, but it clearly takes a lot of effort for him to do so.

What? He can't be meaning this, right?
"No! What? Euh, maybe." Brett shakes his head in confusion. "That's not the point! I was not doing anything with her. She forced herself onto me. I didn't want to. Really! I was waiting for you!" Brett is desperate to get this clear. Oh please, please believe me!

Eddy looks intensely at him, his eyebrows furrowed together, forming a deep line in his forehead. He sees Brett's turmoil, lowers his gaze to the ground, breathes in deeply and makes a decision. He dries his hands and speaks in a soft but clear voice.
"Okay. Come with me. Let's get some bubble tea? It's difficult to hear you through all this noise. We can't talk like this."

He gestures him to follow him outside.

VNVnation: Illusion (outtake)

I know it's hard to tell how mixed up you feel
Hoping what you need is behind every door
Each time you get hurt, I don't want you to change
Because everyone has hopes, you're human after all
The feeling sometimes, wishing you were someone else
Feeling as though you never belong
This feeling is not sadness, this feeling is not joy
I truly understand, please, don't cry now

Please don't go, I want you to stay
I'm begging you please, please don't leave here
I don't want you to hate
For all the hurt that you feel

The world is just illusion, trying to change you
