They are going to hatch! I thought nervously. I swam as fast as I could. I had two little girls on the way, this time I knew they would survive. They have to survive.

I know I made a mistake with Cryo and now my daughters would have to pay for it. But with all due respect, I loved him. More than I ever did Gill. Cryo was geeky and kind, unlike Gill who was about as interesting as a sea slug. Yet, I am so happy to have two daughters born to Cryo.

Yes, Gill was my king but I am the queen and I make the rules around here. I will love who I want and he cannot stop me.

Now is what I did foolish and unsafe. Also yes. But do I care in the slightest? Absolutely not.

As long as I have my daughters everything will be-

I opened the door to see my husband hunched over my daughters eggs' Gill! I flashed at full brightness, What are you doing?!

Teaching you a lesson Coral. He flashed back, his eyes filled with rage. To never cheat on me again. He leaned over to crush the egg when I slapped his talons out of the way with one powerful blow of my tail.

Gill chased me and my eggs around the Deep Palace his movements full of fury. I swam faster than I knew was possible. I had to get him off my tail.

No one will hurt my daughters! I took the two eggs in my arms and swam as fast as I could. Gill tried to follow but I commanded my guards to seize him.

You will regret this Coral! He flashed as my guards took him away to be held in the prisons for the night. I was suddenly glad I was underwater, so no one could see me crying. Don't worry little ones, I thought bringing myself together again, Momma will protect you. I hugged them close, tears welling in my eyes.

Not even hatched yet and they've already had an attempted murder on their part.

I set my eggs down as they wiggled, I'd seen eggs do this multiple times before but I had never thought of how bad the outcome might be. The eggs covered with small cracks and a few starbursts before- CRICK- the first egg shattered into a million tiny pieces. From it emerged a beautiful little princess. Her scales were of the deepest blue, highlighted with an ice blue that was light enough to be white. On her neck were icicle looking spikes, a classic trademark of the IceWings. She was perfect. Like a seabird she spread her large wings. A seabird- I thought, you, my dear, are my perfect little seabird. My Skua.
