I know that Carl lives near me, but I don't expect him to invite me for a walk, but surprisingly, he did. I accepted, for fairness. I think. I saw other girls-- particularly in the cheering club-- glaring, not staring, at me as I walk with Carl.

At first, we walked in silence. Then he started the conversation.

"So how's your day?" he asked me. "Fine. Nothing special happened." I responded. "Really?" He asked in sarcasm. I looked at him surprisingly. "Yeah. Why?" I replied in amazement. "Nothing." He said. We walked again in silence. And again, he broke it. "What's with you and Daniel?" "We're just friends. Why?" I asked. "I just thought, you reject him many times, then now?" Crap. I know they would question it. Hate it entirely. "Why, is it bad for me to be friends with him?" I replied, hiding my annoyance. "I don't know." He said. Then he added, "Are you having lunch wit him tomorrow?" "Yes, why?" I said. "Oh. I want to invite you again, then I found out that you'll be with him again tomorrow." He said. "Oh. I'm sorry, Carl. Next time. Really." I murmured. "It's okay."

We reached my home. "So, see you tomorrow, I guess." He said. "Yeah. Thanks for the walk. Goodbye." I said with a smile. He waved at me as he stalk off to the next street.

I greeted my mom inside the house, then went to my room. I turned my iPod on and lied on my bed, thinking. Why was my day like this? A bit weird. Am I flirting with two boys? Great. Tomorrow, my name will be changed. Miss flirt. Yeah, right. Fine.

How vividly I remember that very first day Carl noticed me.
