It was the week before the school dance. Everybody's on hysterics, even the guys. Every side of the school is filled with girls discussing 'bout dresses, make-ups and boys, while the boys are exchange ideal plans on how to ask a girl for a date. I remember having the same worries about those and daydreaming 'bout Carl. Carl being my date. Carl dancing with me. Carl making my night magical. Every minute of my school dance with Carl. And that daydream not just stayed as a daydream. It became true. My dream turned to reality. Imagine being asked by the boy of your dreams on one of the most important events of high school life. Imagine being the center of jealousy. Every other girl who has a thing for the most hunk boy of the campus is green with envy because of you. How lucky that girl is. How lucky I am. To prove me wrong, the baby came along.
As usual, me and Carl walked together for home. That's where he asked me. "Jade, I find you attractive. I find you stunning. I find myself thinking about you everytime, staring at you during classes, you drift my attention away to our lessons. I like you Jade. You're the most beautiful girl for me, and I want you to be my date for the school dance. Will you be my girl?" He said with such enthusiasm that made my knees wobble and became weak. I can feel my heartbeat race. I can feel my face flushed. To complete the scenario, he stood there waiting for my answer with a dozen of my favorite flower, tulips. A combination of pink and yellow. This couldn't be real, I thought. I am dreaming. I. Am. Dreaming. Oh my God. How can I refuse? And by the way, I'm gonna be stupid again for refusing him again. Then, Daniel. I thought of Daniel suddenly. What if...? The other side of my brain said, "Who cares about him anyway? He can manage himself without me." It is much louder than the other one, which says, "Think twice." I answered my sweet YES to Carl and he happily kissed me on the cheek and held my hand as we walk again to my house. As I say goodbye to him on my doorstep, he said, "I really like you, Jade." He kissed my hand before he let it go.
I can't sleep well that night. I kept thinking of Carl. How sweetly he asked me, How pleasant it feels the kiss he blew to my cheek. How beautiful the tulips are. I texted him to thank him for the tulips. "The tulips are so beautiful. I really love them. They're unbelievable. Thank you very much. I appreciate it a lot. Sweet dreams. :)" The content of my text for him. He replied to me with such sweetness: "Oh, it's nothing. Just for you, my sweet angel. My dreams will be sweet too because of you. :)" He is irresistable. I slept that night with a smile on the face.
