Chapter 9 of Part 2.

That’s what I’ve been afraid, too. Him, letting go when I had loved him enough.

It hurts. It freaking hurts. After I read his letter, my world fell. I just wanted to run and run, continuously running. I’m tired of this just like him.

That made me move. It is now my time for me to have him go back. I am the one now who should made the efforts.

“We just keep on hurting ourselves, don’t we, Daniel? I’m tired of complications that makes us separable. But I’ll work it out soon. I promise. I’ll be back to you. Soon enough, you’ll see me. And I’ll talk to you how I really feel. I just hope you would still accept me.”

Kelly brought to me the letter, and explained to me everything. I was surprised that I’m not angry for her confessions, but I felt relieved. I felt happy. I felt that hope is really at hand. Jade’s coming soon! I’m going to see her, and she’ll be with me. I just have to wait.

“Can’t I see her?” I asked, my hopes getting high.

“I’m sorry.” I looked down at this. “But she said that it would be the best if you don’t see her first. Soon, she’ll give birth. After that, you’ll see her. She wants to fix the things she’s done with her mother first, then you’re the next.” She explained me.

“Carl? How about Carl?”

“I’ll quote her. ‘Oh, who cares about a bastard bitch promising me, then running away from his responsibility?’”

I laughed. “She had really said that? Oh Jade. It’s tough for her, I’m sure.”

“Yes. Undeniably yes. Even though she says she’s fine, we don’t believe her.”

“We?” I was confused.

“Yes. Only me and her auntie had known her whereabouts.”

“Oh. How she’s been through?”

“She’s been through a lot. She was broke, she was helpless, she’s a mess. She mopped almost everyday. When I first slept with her, she’s having nightmares. But she didn’t know about it. Then, she changed. She was on herself again. She smiles, she laughs, she even kids around. She learned to love her baby. She would even die for her. She goes to her check-ups now, and a few days ago, we went shopping for baby stuffs. She’s happy, but she’s still afraid. She’s miserable because she misses you. She’s frustrated with herself because of all the pain she gave you.”

“She doesn’t need to worry about me. She should be worrying about herself. She should be taking care of herself.”

“I know, but you know Jade. She’s always sympathetic towards the feelings of others. She hates hurting other people. She cannot stand watching while someone she loves is in pain.”

Someone she loves. Kelly said that.

“I’m glad that you are always there for her, helping her for everything.”

“I’m glad she trusted me, too. She would need someone to talk to. She even says that. That even if God is always with her, she feels that God wants her to talk to others, too. To voice out her feelings, and not just to keep it to her own.”

“Is she ready now?”

“She is. At first, she wasn’t. she was eaten by her fears. She has doubts and hesitations. She’s afraid that you and her mother would reject her.”

“I certainly wouldn’t reject her. I waited for her so long, and I’m glad to help her out, even her baby. I would want to be the father, too, if that’s necessary.”

“Thank you for loving her so much.”

“I learned a lot from her. I think that’s what made me love her.”

“She’ll be really happy to see you.”

“I would be, too. I can’t wait to be with her.”

“After she gives birth, you would be with her. She can’t travel now, for her due date is near.”

“Oh. I see. I’ll just wait.”

“You better be.” She teased me.

“You don’t know how happy I am now. My heart is jumping.” I laughed.

“I’m pleased to hear that. I waited for you to be back, too.”

“Kelly? Hello?” I whispered with great efforts.

“Jade? Yes, speaking? What’s wrong?”

“It’s.. Ouch!”

“Jade? Jade? What is it?”

“I think I’m going to have my baby now!” I said through my deep breaths.

“Are you alone there?”

“Yes.. Aunt Vero—Oww!”

“Wait for me, I’ll be coming. Hold on for me.”

I didn’t respond. I feel dizzy at that time. I thought I was going to collapse. I hold my tummy as I went out of my room, protecting her.

I screamed in agony as Kelly came in.
