There was a knock on the door, and some familiar scent, but I can’t figure out what is it.

“Coming!” She said as the person behind the door knocked again.

“Oh!” She exclaimed. “Let me put it in here.”

The scent became stronger that I was aware with it now.

Tulips.

I turned around and cannot believed in what I saw. I was to gasp but I didn’t managed. My back hurts again.

I grunted. “Crap.”

He approached me slowly.

“I’ll leave you two first. I need to find food.” Mom said.

“Thank you.” He said to my mom.

“Uhm. Hi.” I said with a smile.

He rushed towards me. He touched my hand and I gripped it. He kissed it. Then he cried.

“Daniel!” I was starting to cry, too.

“Oh, I’m so sorry. Just the emotions, you know.” He said, laughing and coughing at the same time.

“Fool. I was worried.”

“Sorry. So, how are you?”

“I’m as good as new. You?”

“I’m fighting the urge to hug you.”

“Oh,” I blushed. “I think it’s alright for me.” I said shyly.

“Really?”

“Yeah—“

Then he hugged me.

With that, I felt revived again.

His hug were nothing compared to Carl’s. His were so gentle and so caring, like he wouldn’t even let me go. It was assuring and I felt security around him. Unlike Carl’s hugs, it was like possessive, but I never noticed it before. Until now.

I returned back his hug. He wrapped his arm around my waist and lightly kissed my hair. Nothing else mattered to me but him.

He broke of and smiled. I rested my head on his shoulder when he sat beside me.

Then I began to apologize.

“I know you’ve been agonized by what I have done. Even without notifying me, I know what is happening to you. I knew what you feel about me.”

“How? Am I that obvious?”

“Not really. But I have my reasons in saying that.”

“What’s that?”

“Can you please open the cabinet and pull the first paper?”

He did and handed down the paper to me.

“Remember this?” I showed him.

“Gosh.” He buried his face on his hands.

“Why? Daniel?”

“That’s very private, Jade. How did this fell on your hands?” he was like accusing me.

“Daniel, I’m so sorry, but see..” I told him how I saw this and picked it up.

“I sounded very high school there.”

“Until now.” I teased.

“Really.”

“Kidding.”

“What have this done to you?”

“You sound like this paper had committed any crime against me.”
