The first time I saw her, I knew instantly that she is an angel.

She’s a transferred student. I don’t take notice of that kind, but she stood out. She caught my eye.

She’s different.

Jade is not that tall—she’s always teased by Jerome and Chris for her height—but it suits her. She’s fair skinned, her hair’s just fine, she has huge eyes which is full of curiosity. She also has big cheeks, which fitted her face perfectly. Her beauty is breathtaking.

On the first impression, she seemed so quiet. I guess it’s because of the new environment she’s going to have to fit in. Yet, I’m wrong.

When the weeks passed, I had observed that she has a strong personality. She’s bubbly, talkative, and can mingle to almost everybody.

That amused me.

But, despite of her optimism, I felt her fear. I sensed in her that she’s scared to trust immediately. She can be loud on when she’s hyper, but she can also be shy. She knows how to act on place and can balance things easily. When I had discovered that, I admired her. Then, I started to desire knowing her more.

I watched her laugh, giggle, and do all her witty ways in life. All the things she do made me fall for her after some time.

Jade made me love her without her knowing it.

I think she didn’t even mind my presence. She noticed Keith first—a boy certainly is not that popular to girls but is a nice guy—on her first few months here. She’s crushing on him, and he seemed also.

Who wouldn’t notice her?

I think they did a few dates, but eventually, they fall off. They stopped seeing each other, but they’re really good friends now. I didn’t know the details, but I saw her pain.

When she was in pain, I felt shy and hesitant to come to her and comfort her. I regretted it a lot after, but my concern was overcame by fear at that moment. I just felt she would reject me when I’ll offer her comfort.

That incidence occurred again, but in a different situation this time. She was also in pain. She has family problems, and her best friend, which is Namie, is avoiding her. At that time, I found my courage to come to her and talk to her. She was taken aback by my concern, to be honest. But I was glad that what I did and what I advised Jade helped her. After that, she noticed me already. I was happy.

Jade was healed from her pains, and ready to move on and be herself again. She suddenly noticed Carl. Maybe he’s her secret crush—she’s unlike her bestfriend, who, can publish on the school paper who she likes and who she’s dating—but I did noticed. Everytime I stole a stare, I would see her staring at him, her eyes filled with sparkles. Sometimes, she catches me looking at her. Luckily, behind her was Fred, my best bud, so I’ll be pretending to look at him as if we’re communicating. I’ll see her shoulders shrug then divert her attention to her business.

Rarely she smiles at me, but I treasured Jade’s every smile. I kept them at the secret compartment of my heart or write it to my diary, which I bring wherever I am.

My diary is full of Jade stories. I thought that writing would help me immerse my deep feelings and hidden emotions and avoid the turmoil of those building up in my heart. So I write to that every single detail of how she is special to me, and everything. It seemed so old-fashioned, but it helps me. It kept me from crying and crying because of all the pain of loving Jade secretly.

My life is full of oddities, and I am unique in my own way, yet I still seek for something to fill the emptiness I feel. Well, I found the fill. Though loving her hurts, Jade completed me.
