Run VI: Ladder

"Marlin and Lori, go to the apartment to our right and you two can investigate that one, I'll go with Cory to investigate the one on the left," Zoriana said and they nodded. "Stay safe," Marlin said and Zoriana nodded.

Zoriana and Cory entered the department and could see blood stains on the floor. "Zori, look at this," Cory said and Zori walked over to him. It was more blood leading to the closet. Zoriana went to open it, and the killer jumped out and stabbed her in the shoulder. "Fuck!" She yelled and she kicked the killer. She then ran into Troy's dorm room and shut the door. She then covered the door with the dresser as the killer tried to get in. "Zoriana!" Marlin yelled and she turned. She opened the window, "What the hell is the idea here!" She yelled and Marlin grabbed a ladder as Lorianne grabbed hold of it too, "this is the last fucking resort!," Zoriana yelled and Marlin nodded. The two then pushed the ladder over to her and she grabbed it. Lorianne and Marlin then held the ladder in place as Cory looked at Zoriana's injuries. "Go first, I'll be right behind you," Cory said and Zoriana nodded. "Stay fucking safe," Zoriana said and Cory nodded. Zoriana then crawled onto the ladder and place her hands on either side. She then crawled over to the other side slowly. "Hurry the hell up!" Marlin yelled and she sped up the process. She made it to the other side as Cory was holding the dresser back to stop the killer from entering. He hurried over to the ladder and crawled on it.

He looked down and gulped. "Guys, I don't know if I can do this!" He yelled and Zoriana snapped her fingers. "Hey! Snap out of it! Crawl or you will die!" Zoriana yelled and he nodded. But it was too late, the killer already entered the room and he was only halfway there. "Faster!" Marlin yelled and he went faster. The killer then put their knife down and grabbed hold of the ladder. The killer began to shake it viciously as Cory tried to move toward the other window while maintaining his balance at the same time. "Grab my hand!" Zoriana yelled, reaching her hand out and Cory tried to grab it. "We're so close!" She yelled and their fingers bristled as the ladder continued to shake violently. "Zori I can't!" He yelled and she leaned over the window and grabbed Cory's arm. As soon as she did, the ladder tipped over. She then pulled Cory up and the killer slammed their knife down. "You got away, this time," the killer said and the four took deep breaths.

"Fuck, fuck, are you four okay?" Roman asked and Zoriana moved her hand. "Roman, the killer, they're back for real," Zoriana said and Roman nodded. "I know, they killed my cousin, so I'm well aware," Roman said and he opened up his bag to take some bandages out. "What happened?" Roman asked and Cory crossed his arms. "We wanted to know where Troy was, so we went to investigate the hotel when we opened the closet, where the killer was hiding, and he stabbed Zoriana. We ran to the room when Marlin and Lorianne from the other hotel put the ladder between both the windows and saved us," Cory said and Roman nodded. "You kids need to stay safe, July and Zack arrive here in six more days, think you could stay calm until then?" Roman asked and they shrugged. "We can try," Zoriana said and Roman nodded. "I'll check in with you two later, bye," Roman said and they waved at him while he left.
