Run IX: Explanation

"Okay, explain," July said as Damien exhaled. "I did die that day due to that fall, I was dead for 6 entire minutes. Then I was carried onto an ambulance and brought back 2 life physically. I still was not awake. I was then in a coma for the following 5 years. Yeah, that's a long ass time. Then, after that, I spent the next 10 years regaining my memories bc I suffered from heavy memory loss due to dying and being in that coma for so long. I didn't even remember my own name," Damien said as July nodded. "I'm just so happy that you're back," July said before hugging him. He then hugged her back. "But damn, it's been so long," July said as Damien nodded. "We should catch up," Damien said as July agreed. "Yeah, I'd like that," July said, smiling.

"You doing okay?" Mitch asked as Roman nodded. "Thanks for letting me sleep here, I've just been so tense lately," Roman said as Mitch handed him some tea. "Wanna talk about it?" Mitch asked as Roman smiled and looked at him. "Yeah, you know, you're a great listener," Roman said as Mitch smiled. "I try to be," he said as Roman exhaled. "You know how Don's my brother, but there's more," Roman said as Mitch looked at him. "I've been having recurring hallucinations of him ever since I found out he died," Roman said as Mitch eyed him. "Well, that's not so bad," Mitch said as Roman looked at him. "Don't worry, there's more," Roman said as Mitch exhaled. "At first, it was normal things, regular conversations, until I killed Malik, then there was a change. He started to convince me to be just like he was, and I don't know, maybe he's right," Roman said as hus voice broke at the end. "Hey Ro, look at me, okay?" Mitch said as Roman looked at him. "You will never be like him. You're a good person, okay? The only reason why you killed those killers was because you were trying to protect everyone else. I know you, and I've seen you protect so many people, I've heard that you've protected so many people, and I can say truthfully that you're an amazing, smart, kind, protective person okay?" Mitch said as Roman smiled slightly. "You mean it?" Roman said shakily as Mitch placed a hand on Roman's cheek. "I mean it," Mitch said as Roman looked down at Mitch's lips and then back up at his eyes. "You're amazing too, you know? You really listen," Roman said as he put his hand on top of Mitch's. "I jus-," Mitch began as Roman kissed him, Mitch kissing back.

"I mean, I was pretty horrible back then, but still, does that really make someone want to kill somebody?" Leilani asked as Devin crossed his arms. "She was crazy. They both were," Devin said as he exhaled. "She wanted me dead so bad. She basically tortured me relentlessly by keeping me alive, don't you see, she wanted me to feel pain," Leilani said as Grayson exhaled. "Thank God they're both dead, now no one can hurt us," Grayson said as Blaze closed his computer. "Actually, these killers have always had a history of coming back to kill some more, I'd be surprised if this killer didn't reenact this," Blaze said as Grayson eyed him. "The survivors are never safe until they become the victim, look at July and Roman, they've been here since the start and they still can't escape this, this is apart of our lives now," Blaze said as Grayson exhaled. "I guess so," Grayson said disappointingly as Leilani held his hand. "We go this yall, we're the core four," Leilani said, smiling as Devin eyed her. "That sounds so stupid, but i love it," Devin said as Leilani smiled. "Great, we're the core motherfucking four," Grayson said as Leilani chuckled.

"You look exactly the same as the last time I saw you," Damien said as July smiled. "Makeup can really help," July said, smiling. "I wish I knew you were alive so much longer ago, I mean shit, you let me go through the entire grief process, I'm still in denial about Zack, and in since you're back, I'm really gonna believe that he can come back too," July said as Damien smiled. "Maybe he can. Did you ever see his grave, a dead body, maybe?" Damien asked as July squinted. "He was dead, though," she said as Damien smiled. "So was I, come on, let's find out," Damien said as July grabbed her bag. "This is insane," July said to herself.

"Wait, what do you mean you never found a body?" July said to the policeman over the phone. "I don't know, he just vanished," the policeman said as July hung up the phone. "Holy fucking shit you may be on to something," July said as Damien smiled.

The two then went to the nearest hospital. "Do you have a patient named Zack Boberman?" July asked one of the nurses. "Are you family or spouse?" The nurse asked as July looked at Damien. "I'm his husband, yeah," Damien said as the two followed the nurse. "You're just in time. He just woke back up two days ago. He had serious injuries. If the stab  were a bit deeper and more to the left, if the knife was sharper, if the neck slash was just a bit deeper, then he wouldn't be here today," the nurse said as July smiled. "Im so happy he's alive," July said as they approached the room. "You two have five minutes. He's under serious condition," the nurse said as July nodded.

"July?" Zack said as she entered the room, Damien still outside. "I have a surprise," July said as she turned to the door. Damien then walked in. "I must be dreaming," Zack said as Damien walked over to him. "That scar on your neck is pretty sick," Damien said as he smiled. "Oh, shut up and hug me," Zack said as he hugged Damien tightly. "I always thought you'd come back, I haven't dated anyone since," Zack said as Damien smiled. He then sat beside Zack on the bed. "So that means we can pick up where we left off?" Damien asked as Zack chuckled. "Yeah, just don't fall again," he said as Damien rolled his eyes. "Don't get your neck slit again," Damien said as Zack chuckled. "They say I have to stay for another two weeks," Zack said as July nodded. "Is Roman, Zoriana, and Cory still alive?" Zack asked as July tilted her head. "Roman is fine, other two, not so much,"  July said as Zack nodded. "July, I think I'm going to sleep here for the next two weeks, Zack and I need time to catch up too," Damien said as July nodded. "I'll stay for a bit before I leave," July said as the other two nodded.
