When you say Nothing at All

Chapter 05

"No no no, what have I done? This can't happen. My dad will kill me"

"Good Morning to you too. Aah! my head. Do you have an aspirin?"

Arnav opened his eyes and asked only to see Khushi sitting next to him on the bed, holding on to the blanket trying to cover her body.

"Khushi? What the hell? What are you doing here in my room? and why the hell are you naked?"

"Are you freaking kidding me right now? Think, go back to last night"

Arnav closed his eyes to remember what happened last night and he did not like a single thing he remembered.

"Oh no, did we?"

"Yes we did, otherwise why would I be on your bed naked"

"Khushi, I ... what.... this...."

"My dad is going to kill me"

"No no, you can't tell anyone, Khushi"

"But, you took my virginity"

"Your what now?"

"You heard me"

"Why the hell didn't you stop me? I asked you several times as far as I can remember"

"I don't know. Maybe for once, I wanted to feel special"

"Khushi, this shouldn't have happened. It's not because you were a virgin and all. We work together and I am your boss"

"What are we going to do now Arnav?"

Khushi put her head on the headboard and closed her eyes. Arnav lay next to her and closed his eyes trying to think how they going to manage this situation.

"Shall I resign?"

"Are you mad Khushi?"

"Then?"

"I can maybe transfer you to a different department?"

"What might Lavanya think?"

"She is smart and she knows me well. So yes, she will figure out"

"I ruined everything, Arnav. I should have stopped you when you offered. It's all my fault"

Khushi started crying. She was feeling ashamed of herself. It's not like she did this on purpose for the sake of her job. She was drunk. Arnav turned around and pulled her toward him.

"Please don't cry. We'll try and figure something out. It's not your fault. We both are to be blamed. Me mostly. I should have left you when I knew you were a virgin"

"I feel guilty and what if I got pregnant?"

That's when Arnav realized Khushi only acts bold, deep within she is as innocent as a baby.

"I took precautions so don't worry about it. Now please stop crying"

Arnav started patting her head while hugging her.

"You aren't bad as they say"

"Who says I am bad?"

"Everyone at the office thinks you are a monster"

"I am their boss, so I have to make that distance from the Khushi. I am hating myself for not keeping that distance from you"

Khushi turned her head toward him and looked at him.

"If we can ignore the fact that I slept with my boss, last night was the best night of my life Arnav"

Arnav couldn't decide whether he should answer that or not. After a few seconds of thinking he decided to go with the latter and pressed his lips on her forehead instead. It was more like an assurance that she won't be alone in this.
