When you say Nothing at All

Chapter 02

"Good Morning Miss. Lavanya. Hope I am not too early?"

"First of all, call me Lavanya. I feel like an old woman when you call me Miss. Second of all, it's good that you are early. It's a good impression on the first day"

"Thank you. I was so excited and didn't get much sleep. Woke up early morning to get ready"

"We all feel the same way about a new job. Specially it's your first job. Come on, let me show you to your desk"

"How is the boss? I heard he can be very strict?"

"Who? ASR or Anirudh Sir?"

"My boss, the junior CEO"

"Don't worry Khushi, ASR looks intimidating but once you get to know him, he is not too bad. The only thing is that he is a perfectionist and he does not tolerate tardiness and does not forgive lairs"

"I am neither, so I should be safe"

"Good to know. Now, this is your desk. I am usually in that room. The room next to it is ASR's cabin. Never go in there unless you are asked to"

"Ok, I will keep that in mind"

"You and I cannot take breaks together. I usually have my lunch at the same time as ASR. That means neither of us has a set lunchtime or a length. It could be an hour lunch break, a half an hour, or quick ten minutes all depending on how busy ASR is"

"Thank you, Lavanya. I am so grateful you gave me this opportunity"

"Make sure you impress the boss. Because my job is also on the line with yours"

"What?"

"Ah, forget about it. As long as you don't make any mistakes, be on time and have a really good eye for details we should be good"

Khushi noted everything on a small notepad. Her boss does sound like a person who she has seen in movies.

"And, one more thing Khushi"

Khushi turned to Lavanya.

"Do not fall for his looks"

"What?"

"You'll know what I mean when you see him"

Saying that Lavanya went inside her cabin closing the door behind her. Khushi sat on the chair and turned on her computer. She already had more than ten emails from different people guiding her on how to set up this and that. She quickly finished all her training modules and opened the email from Lavanya to start her day.

Khushi was so engrossed in her work that she didn't realize someone is standing in front of her. She was about to call Lavanya to ask if she can go and have a cup of tea when she saw the human figure standing in front of her.

She jumped up and looked right into that person's eyes. Those are the most beautiful eyes she has ever seen. Then she slowly looked down and took a step back to get a more wider view.

There stood a man in his early twenties, wearing a dark grey suit looking at her. He looked like a model who just came out of a magazine. He was simply hot. Breathtakingly hot. Khushi felt her heart skipping a few beats.

"Take a photo, it'll last longer. Now, who do we have here?"

Khushi tried to hide her embarrassment. She didn't realize she was staring at him.

"Good Morning Sir, I.. I... am K... Khushi. Khushi Kumari Gupta. I started today as Miss. Lavanya's assistant"

"Hmm, bring me a cup of coffee and knock before you enter"
