"Good Morning"
"Morning, coffee?"
"Yes please, and put a drop of honey as well"
"Be right back"
Khushi jumped out of the bed wearing Arnav's shirt and walked to the mini kitchen in the room. He looked at her from the back. This girl came into his life in an unexpected way. He never thought this beauty will be sleeping next to him like that when he first saw her. It has been almost a year since he first saw her.
A lot has changed within this time. Arnav's longest friend is no longer on talking terms with him, and Khushi's only friend at work no longer talks to her. This all happened when Arnav promoted Khushi to his Senior Executive Assistant making Lavanya work under Khushi.
At first, Lavanya thought of resigning and but then Akash and Anirudh made her understand the value of working for their company. Lavanya was angry with Arnav for promoting Khushi, but she was hurt and disappointed with Khushi for accepting it.
For Lavanya, it was not a secret that Khushi has played. She knew exactly what is going on behind those closed cabin doors but never uttered a word. She proved her friendship to both Arnav and Khushi by keeping her mouth shut while both of them played her behind her back.
Sometimes Arnav wondered what would have his life been like if not for Khushi.
"What are you thinking Arnav?"
"Just how beautiful you are"
"Stop flattering me. We should get ready for work"
"Khushi, have you ever thought of making this official?"
"Making what official?"
"You and I"
Khushi spilled the coffee she was about to drink.
"What?"
"I mean, I know what our initial arrangement was like but you and I are so used to each other now. So why not make this official"
"Arnav, you and I are from two different worlds. This will never work"
"It worked so far"
"That's because neither of us was serious and no one knew about us. There is a difference between being secretive and exclusive"
Khushi's words hurt Arnav. He remembered what Lavanya told him before she packed her things from her cabin.
"She will play you the same way she played me"
Can it be true? How can she be so cold about their connection? There were multiple times when Arnav tried to tell her he is falling for her but each time she managed to change that topic successfully.
"Should we get married?"
Khushi spilled her coffee once again.
"What is wrong with you today?"
"It's a simple question Khushi, what do you say if I asked your hand for marriage?"
"I'd say stop making me believe in dreams. Your parents will never agree and your grandmother would rather let you die than let you marry me"
"Khushi, ignore my family. Would you be willing to get married to me?"
"Look Arnav, I am from a lower-middle-class family. My family has gone through a lot. They can't afford to have their second daughter to be killed because she decided to get married to a prince"
"I am no prince"
"Try and understand Arnav. It's not easy. You, butler, earn more than my father earned"
