When you say Nothing at All

Chapter 19

"Khushi, we are ready for our team dates this Friday. Did you ask your boss out?"

"Payal, how many times do I have to tell you? I am not asking my boss out"

"Girls, you are forgetting the most important thing, he is engaged. He has a girlfriend"

As soon as NK mentioned that Arnav was engaged Khushi's jaw dropped. How come she never knew about this and how could he? He acted all like I am in love and I will marry you with her and now engaged to someone else?

"Shut up NK. He is not"

"Khushi, you work for Arnav Singh Raizada but you don't know he is engaged? I wonder how you do your job if you are this careless"

"He is right Khushi. If I have a hot boss like that the first thing I would check is to see if he is single or not"

"Guys, I don't like him that way and besides, I go there to do my job, not to peek at other's dating lives. I know you two for years now but have I ever asked about your significant others? I don't even know their names. Because dating is something personal"

"Don't tell us you don't have a crush on your hot boss"

"I don't. And NK, how can you be so sure of him being engaged?"

"Don't you read new papers or watch tv? It was all over the news when they engaged and they are on the front page of many business magazines. Everyone knows about Arshee"

"Arshee? Who the hell is that?"

"Their shipping name. Arnav and Sheetal, Arshee"

"Seriously? I don't know how you have free time to stalk people. I have my own life, so I don't have time to get obsessed with others"

"We are sorry Mother India. But please don't cancel on us"

"Payal, what am I going to do between two couples? You guys carry on with the dinner and I will meet you after for drinks"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, now let me go back to work"

Khushi walked back to the office but her mind was still occupied with what she heard. How can she miss that? Arnav is engaged to a girl named Sheetal. 

"Why should I care?"

"Then why bothers you so much?"

"It doesn't bother me. It came unexpectedly"

"Then why do you look angry?"

"I am not. It's his life, he can date, get engaged, and get married to anyone he wants"

"Don't just say it. Understand it and move on"

Khushi fought with her inner self. But she couldn't help feeling angry and disappointed. She walked into the office and went back to her cabin promising not to see or talk to anyone until her mind is calmed down. Since no one bothered enough to come and talk to her, it wasn't hard. 

Khushi found a new routine to have lunch with Payal and NK. They both get busy during the office lunch hours so Khushi takes her lunch break a few hours after the normal lunch rush. Therefore, she has enough time to spend with Payal and NK. Considering she has no friends at the office, this is her best option. 

It was Friday afternoon and Khushi saw Lavanya and Akash leaving the office early. Maybe something is going on between them. Half of the office left early as it was Friday. Khushi was all alone in the marketing department when she heard someone walking in. 

"Where the hell are these bloody people? I pay them to work"

Khushi heard the voice she didn't want to hear. She looked up and saw furious Arnav barging in.
