The city passed my by at an accelerated pace, street after street was merely a blur as I raced towards danger. "How's the suit? Sorry if the comms are a little shotty. Your fight with Surge kind of screwed with our ability to communicate" I heard through the static comms, from Evan, who was still at Haven Labs.

Crossing an intersection, I leaped over a small taxi and soared between a crowd of people who were crossing the road. All anyone felt was a wave of wind and saw a flash of light as my legs carried me a near top speed. "Sorry, about that. Although, the suit... It's nice, feels a little light though"

"That's because, I found a way to upgrade the systems and compress the tech inside, it should be way easier to move freely and make more exotic movements when running"

Zippping down three more streets, I made a quick turn through an alleyway before clearing it before anyone could blink. "Evan, where are they?" I asked, while heading towards the financil district. Passing through Camino Ward, I took quick notice in the progress on repairs. The crater was still quite deep but for the most part, the area was much safer to traverse.

"I can't tell who is who but reports and data tell me that they're moving towards...you" My senses kicked in as a cold shiver ran down my spine, followed by a deafening shriek from an inhuman figure.

Snapping my attention to my left, I pivoted on my side and whipped around. Blasting off once more, each stride moving towards the two streaks of red lightning that were closing in. "Found them!" I called out through comms, turning off the main road, leading out of Camino.

Moving like a Cosmic Demon of pure motion, my body blitzed down an empty alleyway and darted upward, alongside a dark building. A hint of recognition flashed in my mind as I noticed the old burnout markings, evidence that Surge and myself had fought on this building when Camino Ward was under threat by the group, the media dubbed: The League of Villains.

Appearing atop the massive structure, I observed the chaos below. People, those who still lived in Camino or were still fixing what was left behind were running for their lives in a panic. Some tripping through the crowd, leaving those who couldn't fend for themselves behind.

Cries of children echoed through the mob of people as they were trampled on.

As for Surge, his body blazed with a potent energy that mirrored mine.

It was a negative fury that took the form of Speedforce lightning. Chasing closely behind, was the pale Avatar of Death itself. With a appearance of the Grim Reaper and a overwhelming presence that felt suffocating to be near.

The monster screeched, the wail, shaking me to the core. Fighting the sense of discomfort, I gripped the edge of the building. Ignoring the wave of vertigo from peering down to the ground, my body crackled with bursts of pure, golden yellow Speedforce.

I knew my speed was like a beacon, they could feel my gaze, my very being, because I felt it too. Their negativity, the hatred, the purpose...

Time lagged behind as the noise from the ordinary people below distorted. Inhaling deeply, I dashed over the edge. Taking the extra momentum gravity gives to reach a whole new speed. Each step caused the glass along the side of the structure to collapse under the pressure of my footfalls.

A thunderous clap that could be mistaken for a brewing storm burst from my position, only to be left in the dust as my current speed was far beyond Mach One.

Rushing into the fray, I decisively evacuated the street. My lightning trial bolting in and out of the situation before anyone was the wiser. Taking two people with me each lap in.

Surge took notice, his fatigue showing the vast amount of running he had endured.

The very notion of helping him felt wrong, I hated him but I knew it wouldn't be right to leave him to the Monster that I pulled forth from the abyss beyond Time and Space.
