Chapter 20: Fast Enough

"Catch me if you can" Diago shifted into a cloud, appearing on another building in an instant. I flashed past the villains, the hand guy tried to grab me but I was way too fast. He was knocked off balance, the mist guy was blown away from the sheer force of my speed. 

We raced across the city, he was continuously teleporting, kind of getting annoying every time he did just that. When I got close, he disappeared. "Guys! What do I do?" I yelled into my comms. "Uh... He has limits just like you. Find them" Kana said through the comms. 

We continued our game of cat and mouse as the chase was taken further away from the fight in the centre of the city, he was hard to see but the frequency of his ports were getting longer. As we reached the edge of the district, he doubled back, teleporting three buildings away. 

I ran through the an alley, making it harder for him to see me. It was dark, my lightning making it just visible to get through. 

"Snuff out the light..."

His words rang through my head, it was more than just a hint. Diago doubled back because he can't see. His power is quantum displacement, but he needs sight to do so. I ran around the city block, continuously blocking off his exit with circle of lightning and red blur. He teleported randomly to escape my line of sight, unknowingly ruining his chances of escape. 

As he appeared on the ground of the empty street, I sideswiped him. His body was thrown across the street, into a wall. He groaned as he attempted to recover. My eyes scanned the street, I raced down the street, running on the sides of buildings, throwing stones at the lightposts. All the light in the street was taken away. 

"F-Fuck..." He growled, "That isn't a nice word" I quipped from behind. He swung his arm behind him, attempting to hit me. I easily dodged, sending two strikes to his ribs. Then I kicked the back of his leg, making him kneel. My body ran around him, socking him in the jaw, knocking him unconscious.

"He's down" I huffed into my comms, there was a cheer from the other end of the line. Then I heard a battle cry, my head snapped to an alleyway. I looked at Diago and used my speed to wrap a clothe around his eyes and bind him to a lightpost. "Don't move" I then flashed into the alleyway. 

As I arrived, I saw Endeavor's kid, that engine legged dude, Rien and Izuku, they were protecting a fallen hero. They were fighting a man with swords and a blood red scarf. 

The Hero Killer: Stain...

The hero killer was about to cleave Todoroki through is sword brushing against his hero suit. I ran down the alleyway, moving past engine legs as he slowly stood from the ground. His movements were slowed to a crawl as I raced by. My body blitzed through the alleyway, my lightning illuminating the space without effort. 

I reached Todoroki, my hand moved him aside, then I grabbed Stain. Once I was holding him, I dragged him down the alley, dropping him quickly. His body tumbed across the pavement, cutting his shoulders. 

My body appeared in the middle of the alley, "So, you resort to picking on school kids?" I said with a vibrational voice. "You..." I nodded with a smirk. "If you want to try to run, I'll give you a 10 second headstart" I quipped. He glared at me, "You... Pursuit. A real hero. A man who fights for the people and not the glory" He pulled out his other curved blade. 

"You are worthy. Run away, I'll give only one chance" I looked around, the kids were shaken. All of them suffering from blood loss, "Sorry, no can do. I wouldn't be much of a hero to let these bright minds fend for themselves" 

"N-No! This is our fight!" I looked back to see Engine legs practically crying. "A hero doesn't have a look like that. Besides, I'm just doing what anyone should do if they had the chance" the teens froze.

"So, I won't leave. Not when you need my help" I got in a stance, lightning sparked over my body, caressing every cell in my body and every atom immediately close to me.

Stain dashed forth, "How unfortunate" His eyes were full of craze, he slashed with his blade. I easily dodged the attack, instantly racing around him. He turned back, but I was gone by the time he attacked. I tapped his shoulder from behind. His body twitched but I was on the offensive. 

My fists rapidly fired forth, I was hitting him with the same rate of a machine gun. My body quickly circled him.

1 punch...

10 punches...

100 punches...

1000 punches...

I ran to the side, pulling him along. As he flew I shoulder barged him down the alleyway. "Give up..." I sternly said as I took a casual approach towards him.

He spun around, throwing two knives. I caught them with ease, throwing them aside. "People who think like you only have one agenda. Sure... This world has its issues but murder is never an option. Killing isn't how to solve problems!"

"What would you know?..." he groaned from the ground. I frowned and crouched down, "How do you run around and smile if you don't know pain!?"

I used my speed to grab him and slam him against the wall, "I can save people and smile because I know what that pain is like" I flipped him on his backside. "I know what it's like to lose people. So, I decided to do everything I could to insure nobody has to experience the same pain"

He pulled out a knife from his shoe and attempted to stab me. Within less than a second I pulled him up and punched him in the face. Knocking him unconscious.

I looked back to see the students and the injured hero. "Everyone okay?" I asked. They all nodded, "Th-Thank you for y-your help!" Izuku said with a bright and relieved smile. "Yeah! You were so awesome! I'm have to tell Dylan about this when I see him next" Rien cheered witj a bright smile. "No problem. Anything for someone in need" I flashed out of the alleyway and grabbed Diago.

"I have to put this guy somewhere he belongs. Goodbye!" I flashed away, racing through the city, back to the Lab.

"Evan, Kana... I'm on my way back. Get a cell ready" I ran towards my next destination.

I stop in the pipeline entrance chamber, Kana and Evan were standing beside me as were looked into the containment capsule.

Diago Watts slowly came to consciousness and stood up. Instantly freaking out in his new confinement. "Can he escape?" Kana questioned with genuine concern.

"It's one way glass. Dylan mentioned that he needed to see to teleport. He isn't getting out via quantum displacement"

I nodded and stepped forward. "Diago" he seemed to freak out when he heard me. "I don't know what that Speedster offered you or why you did the things you did. But you're done"

He huffed in frustration, "You little bastard... When I get out of here. I'LL KILL YOU ALL!!"

"No... You won't get out... In fact. You won't ever hurt anyone else ever again" I walked away and Evan closed the shielded door of the pipeline. "Are we supposed to get used to working above a makeshift prison that holds evil people with Meta-Human based powers?" Kana wondered.

"Comes with the job description" I said with a sigh. "You feel better?" Evan asked. I took a moment to think. "I know that there is somebody out there faster than me. But, if I can outrun a man who can close distances in an instant. With training and time, I know I can face the platinum Speedster. I'm not alone"

I held out my fist and my friends fist bumped me. "I'm going home to get some sleep" I said as I flashes into my casual clothes. "Okay... See you tomorrow"

"Uh... I actually might have to visit someone" I grinned as I flashed out of the Cortex.

Like I said, I can't leave a helpless person to fend for themself. But, I can't leave my best friend's most probable boyfriend to die either. That is a violation of the best friend code.
