Leo POV
I step out of my car, closing the door before walking over to the house. It's just past midnight, the usual time I get home nowadays.
Closing the front door behind me, I see the lights on in the kitchen. Walking in, I see Alex standing by the stove, with his back turned to me.
I grin and sneak up behind him. Alex glares at me when I ruffle his hair. "Love you too" I assure him, and he rolls his eyes, while a smile makes its way to his lips.
"What are you doing?" I ask since Alex and Diana usually disappear once the clock strikes midnight. They have a very strict bedtime schedule.
Alex sighs. "Trying to make scrambled eggs" He says, and I look at the pot in front of him. I grimace. "That doesn't look right".
I hear the sound of the fridge opening, and we turn, seeing Sage grabbing a bottle of water.
"Reunited.." I gasp, and they both roll their eyes while I laugh.
I lift myself up and sit on the kitchen counter beside the stove, while Sage walks over. He glances into the pot.
"How do you make scrambled eggs?" Alex mumbles and Sage rolls his eyes before turning on the stove.
I bite back a smile while Alex stares confused. "I...I swear-"
We both start laughing because of course Alex forgot to turn on the damn stove. "Shut up" He scoffs, not finding the situation as amusing as we are.
"So..how everyone's life going?" I ask. I've been coming home past twelve every night for the last few weeks, so I rarely see Alex. And Sage is-...I don't really know where he spends all his time, but the point is we have barely seen each other in the last few days.
Sage shrugs.
I shoot him a grin. "Very informative," I say, and he smiles.
"Pregnancy is shit. I don't envy Diana at all" Alex sighs, staring at the pot of scrambled eggs. I nod my head in agreement. Pregnancy is shit.
"I remember one time when Brianna was pregnant, she was craving pickles with mustard and Nutella. She kicked me out when I fake gagged" I chuckle, and Alex and Sage both laugh.
It's a rare time I talk about Brianna and her pregnancy. But whenever I do, no one ever shoots me pitiful looks or tries to pry for more information, which I greatly appreciate.
"How are you holding up with being a father?" I ask Alex, and he raises his eyebrows. "Me? Hell- I'm not doing anything. Have you seen Diana? Worry about her" He scoffs.
Dodging the question.
"You know that's not what I meant" I shoot him a look, and he looks back down at the pot. "I'm fine".
I let out a laugh. "Well then, well done. Because when I found out I was going to be a dad, I had a mental breakdown and locked myself away for a week. But that's just me" I snort. I never wanted to be a father. Never wanted kids. Purely out of the fear I'd end up like him.
I lock eyes with Sage, who shoots me a sad look. I show him a small smile in return and look away.
Alex sighs. "I'm fucking petrified" He mumbles. "But don't tell Diana that" He warns.
"I need you both to promise me that if I ever turn into him in any way, you'll shoot me ten times in the head" Alex then says, and my eyes widen slightly, not expecting that.
"You won't-" "Promise me" Alex cuts me off, and I glance at Sage. He nods his head slowly. "Fine. But only because we know that'll never happen" I tell him. Alex looks away.
