Leo's POV
I stare up at the ceiling, fighting sleep as best I can.
I know what will happen when I close my eyes.
It's three in the morning and I am exhausted. Too exhausted to get up out of bed. So exhausted that my eyes unwilling close, and I drift off to sleep.
"Dude get out of bed, come on".
I ignore Alex completely.
He's standing on the other side of my bed, while I have my back to him. He's making it difficult to pretend he's not here.
Sage on the other hand is sitting on the ground right in front of me. He's just staring at me with a small frown on his lips. He's quite easy to ignore.
"Leo" He groans, grabbing my bed and shaking the whole bunk. "Fuck off Alex" I mumble.
It's been two days since dad-...
I can barely move.
Even if I could get up without being in pain, I wouldn't. I have no energy to get up out of bed.
Alex groans again. "Come on Leo, you've been lying here for days".
I ignore him again.
"Are you sick?".
I don't have the energy to speak.
"Is it your bunkmate? Marco Polo dude? Do you miss him, is that it?"
Another pain runs through me.
Marco left.
I don't blame him. I completely shattered his heart.
After getting all four nurses in the medical station to stitch my entire back together, the first thing I did was break it off with Marco.
I have no explanation for the random breakup, and I was fucking heartless when doing so. It was so bad that he was gone the next morning. Yesterday morning.
I'm trying to act like I don't care.
"Alexander, go away...please" I whisper, and it goes silent. Even Sage seems surprised. I can't remember the last time I called him by his full name. But I need him to understand, I want to be left alone.
Alex then walks around my bed, stopping right in front of me and sits down on the floor next to Sage.
He's frowning and he's worried. It's clear by just one glance at his face. Sage has the same expression.
"Are you okay Leo?" He whispers, and I screw my eyes shut tight just so they don't fill with tears.
"Did something-"
"Triplets!" The all too familiar voice of Presley yells. They both turn their head while Presley appears at the end of my bed.
"Your brother is here. My office, now" He mutters, before walking off.
Alex and Sages expression changes immediately. In seconds they're both happy and on their feet, eager to go.
Although I'm excited to see Jay, I can't help the dread that fills me at the thought of moving.
"Go on without me, I'll be there in a second," I tell them. They turn to me. Alex is clearly confused. "What? No we'll wait for you".
I shake my head. "Go. Jay is waiting for you" I force a grin, and that seems to be the push they needed. "Don't take too long!" Alex yells as both him and Sage run off.
