Zacks POV

I sigh with relief as I watch the last person leave through the door.

Fucking finally.

Today felt like that day that never ended.

"I'll start the tables!" Tiffany calls over as she locks the door. Henry walks out with a sweeping brush.

"You can both go home. I'll lock up" I tell them, and they both glance at each other before looking at me. I'm in a shit mood- have been all day. And I really just need to be alone since the sound of their breathing is agitating me beyond belief.

"No, that'll take you half an hour on your own. I'll stay-" I cut Henry off. "Just go," I tell him, and he sighs but nods. Tiffany seems a bit more hesitant, but eventually, she follows Henry to the back to get her stuff.

When they finally leave, I run a hand through my hair and sigh. I'm fucking exhausted. You have no idea how tiring it is being awake.

Grabbing my phone, I connect it to the speaker I keep here, and press play on one of my Adele playlists. Adele is fucking amazing, end of fucking discussion. I grab a wet cloth and step out from behind the bar, and begin wiping down the tables.

I don't know why I'm in such a pissy mood. Apart from their normal shit, there were no exceptionally annoying customers today.

In ten minutes I've finished wiping down the tables, so I move on to cleaning down the bar.

I hear a small 'thud', and I look down and see my phone on the ground. Shit, it slipped from my pocket.

Groaning, I kneel down and grab it, checking to make sure the screen isn't cracked.

I then hear the door open.

Shit- I forgot to lock it.

I feel my heart stop in my chest, and my mind goes to the worst. My eyes search for the gun we keep behind the counter, and I grab it quickly. Taking a deep breath, I force my hand steady and I stand up with the gun pointed in both hands.

I practically jump back when I see fucking Leo leaning against the counter right in front of me, with an amused smile on his face.

"What the fuck?!" I yell, tossing the gun on the counter as I place a hand over my racing heart.

He chuckles, picking up the gun and staring at it. "It was still on safety darling" He points out, and I scowl. "Fuck off" I mutter.

"I'm just saying. What's the point in having a gun if you don't know how to shoot it?" He asks, and I roll my eyes as I step out from behind the bar.

Walking over to the door, I make sure to lock it this time.

I see Leo leaning his back against the bartop as he watches me, looking to be holding back a laugh. "Hey- less than three months ago there were people in here trying to shoot us. Excuse me for being careful when I'm here alone" I mutter, walking over to him.

He meets me halfway, grabbing my hands and pulling me against him. "Hey," Leo says, looking serious now. He moves my hands behind his neck, and I keep them there when he drops his hands to wrap them around my waist. "Even if I'm not here, you're safe, you hear me?" He tells me, and I sigh, resting my head against his chest.

"You're safe darling. I'd die before I let you get hurt" He whispers in my ear. "And I'm your kill, remember?" He adds, making me smile.

I pull my head back and stare up at him. "What the fuck are you doing here? We agreed you stay at home for a while" I remind him.

It's only been a week. I was over at his house on Friday- due to our deal. But I couldn't stay long since I couldn't miss work. It's only me and Henry who work Fridays- our busiest day. And I couldn't leave Henry to do it alone. So I haven't seen Leo for two days now.

"I'm not meant for staying at home," He tells me, and I roll my eyes playfully. "How are you today?" I ask, and he sighs, glancing behind me.

"Can we just forget about it? Pretend everything is normal?" He asks, and I hum. "Everything is normal, what are you talking about?" I ask, and he smiles before kissing me.

My eyes close automatically, and I feel myself relax against him as he tightens his hold on me.

He pulls away, leaning his forehead against mine. "Is that Adele?" He whispers, and I scowl.

He laughs, while I try to glare at him but it's hard to. He has a nice smile.

Leo begins swaying us side to side, and I shake my head immediately. "No- I'm not doing this," I tell him, and he grins.

"Yes, you are," He tells me, and I fight back my laugh. "No, stop it- I don't fucking slow dance. Especially not with you" I tell him, and he leans in close.

"I'm heartbroken. Truly" He whispers, and I grin.

As if to make matters worse, Leo starts singing along with the song..horribly.

"Shut up- oh my god you can't sing at all!" I lean my head again his chest as I laugh. "What are you talking about? Of course I can. You hear these high notes?" Leo asks, just before attempting to sing the high bit in one of the Adele songs.

"I hear something alright" I mumble, and he laughs, kissing my head.

I sigh, closing my eyes. "I missed you. I think" I tell him. "You think?" Leo laughs quietly.

"Well, I was pissed all day. Now I'm happy. I guess that means I missed you" I explain, lifting my head from his chest and staring at him again.

"I missed you too darling" Leo says quietly, his smile still present.

"I'll be back daily to annoy your ass soon, don't worry" He whispers, and I hum. "Take your time. When you're back, I want you back full swing" I warn him, and he grins, leaning in close again.

"Got it" He whispers, before closing the gap between us and kissing me once again.
