Zack's POV
I pour myself a shot of tequila, quickly drinking it and grimacing at the taste.
It's Saturday night; a normal night in this bar. There's only fighting on Fridays when we are 'closed'.
Saturday nights are always extremely busy, tonight's no exception.
It's just after eleven, and it's gotten much calmer. I finally have a chance to catch my breath.
I grab a cloth, wiping down the bar top. I like to keep it clean. Call me weird if you dare but I love this bar more than myself.
"Four shots please".
I look up, freezing when I see the guy from last night sitting there, smiling. How long has he been sitting there? Fuck, maybe I took too many shots tonight.
I look away quickly, grabbing four shot glasses and placing them down in front of him. I pour them, and he smiles. "Thanks, darling".
I scowl. "Quit calling me that" I mutter. "You're so easily pissed off. It's adorable" He says. I stare at him in disbelief.
This fucker did not just call me adorable.
"Listen, I don't give a shit who the fuck you are or what you do, if you call me that again, I will stab your eyes out with a damn toothpick, you hear me?" I threaten.
He smiles. "Adorable".
I scoff, before glaring at him. He smirks, before bringing one of the shot glasses to his lips. He leans his head back slightly as he takes it, his eyes still on mine.
I can't help myself when I look down at his neck, watching as he swallows. Scowling at myself for even thinking this guy is attractive, I look back down at the glass I'm drying.
I mean, he is attractive. With brunette hair, piercing green eyes and perfect pink lips that practically force you to want to kiss them. But still, I should have enough self-control to manipulate myself to believe he's ugly.
"Scotch on the rocks please!" Someone shouts. I start to make the drink. "Do you need something?" I mumble.
"Am I not allowed to sit at my own bar?" He asks. "Well you never before, so why now?" I ask. "Well before, I didn't know what adorable little bartender worked here" He smirks slightly.
I scowl. "I am not adorable, nor little. Fuck off" I mutter and he laughs while I glare. Asshole.
"Zack, right?"
I stop, looking up at him. "How the fuck do you know that?". "A little birdie told me" He says. I roll my eyes.
"I'm Leo," He says. I look at him again. Leo...
He suits a Leo.
"Didn't ask, don't care".
Leo smirks, and I scowl again. "Quit smirking all the damn time" I mutter.
"What would you rather I do?" He grins. "Leave," I tell him blankly.
He laughs, taking another shot.
"So you seem to have plenty of lemon slices," Leo says. I cough awkwardly, scratching the back of my head. "Oh yeah..you see-".
"Mhm," He cuts me off. "You can relax. We're not after Cameron anymore" Leo says. I freeze. "How do you know his name?" I mumble, looking at him cautiously.
"Family friend" He shrugs. I shake my head. "Look I know what goes on here. Cameron may be involved in some illegal shit but he's a good kid. Leave him alone" I tell him.
Leo smiles at me, drinking another shot. "I am," He says. I'm taken aback. "What are you doing?" I mumble.
"Excuse me?" He laughs. "You expect me to believe in the last twenty-four hours you had a change of heart? No. You have a plan. What is it?".
"Honest. I'm leaving your friend alone" He tells me. I eye him suspiciously. "Why?".
"Like I said. Family friend" Leo tells me. I shake my head. "Cameron wouldn't know you guys," I say.
"And how do you know that?" He asks. "He isn't involved in mafia shit" I mutter. He stares at me. "Mafia shit? Whatever do you mean?" Leo says, his head tilted to the side and his eyebrows raise. But the slight smirk on his face doesn't go unnoticed.
"You know exactly what I mean" I mutter. "People talk. I listen" I tell him. He chuckles. "Well you obviously haven't been listening hard enough" Leo smiles.
I look at him confused as he downs the last shot. He stands up. "Thanks for the drinks darling," Leo tells me. He winks, before turning around and walking away.
