Zack's POV

I'm at work, as usual. It's Friday night, our busiest night due to all the illegal fighting and shit. And not only is it really fucking busy in here, but to top it all off, Leo is here. Sitting in front of me on his phone. Asshole.

"Two beers please," Someone says. I look up and see a guy standing behind the bar, taking money out of his wallet. I look back down and finish pouring the shots someone ordered.

"I said two beers" The guy repeats, hitting his hand on the top of the bar a few times to get my attention.

I keep looking at the shot glasses I'm pouring, only taking my time now. "Believe it or not, my ears work. Have some patience yeah?" I say to him.

"Dude come on. Just hand me the two beers and I'll be out of your hair" He says, and I ignore him. I hate people like this. Is it really that hard to wait your fucking turn?

I suddenly feel someone tap my shoulder, and I look up to see the guy fucking leaning over the bar. "Dude-"

I put down the bottle I was holding, before grabbing him by the collar roughly and pulling him closer. "You fucking touch me again and I'll stab your hands with a broken beer bottle, you hear me?" I scowl, and the guy's eyes widen.

"I just wanted-" "Yeah, well we all want things. I want you to be unconscious in a ditch right now but you're not are you?" I mutter, and the guy tries to pull away but I don't let him.

"You're fucking psycho" He mumbles, and I scoff. "It's called honestly".

"Dude help me" He mumbles, reaching his arm out for Leo. I hold back my laugh. "Nah, I'm enjoying this," Leo says, and I roll my eyes.

"Keep it in your pants Leonardo," I say, and he grimaces. "Don't call me that. It's Leo" He says. "My apologies your highness".

"Can you let go of me?" The guy mumbles, and I scowl, shoving him back. He takes a deep breath, his hands resting on the bar. I grab two beer bottles, before placing them harshly down on top of his hands. "My bad," I say, and Leo chuckles quietly while the guy mumbles, "It's fine".

I grab two glasses, giving them to him as well. He hands me a twenty.

"Have a truly amazing night" I shoot him an overly fake smile, before turning to serve another customer.

"Eh-..sorry I gave you a twenty. I need change back" He says. "No, you don't" I tell him, putting the money in the register. He laughs nervously. "Um..yes I do. One beer isn't ten dollars".

"Right, but the impatient-dickhead-tax makes it ten dollars each," I tell him, and he scowls.

"You can't do that!" He says, and I chuckle. "Yes, I can. Boss dudes right there" I say, nodding my head to Leo. "Boss dude? Really?" He says, and I smile.

"But-" I groan. He's still here. "Mate, piss off before I throw you in the ring" Leo scowls, clearly done with this guy as well.

He quickly walks off after that. Thank god.

"The tequila you asked for?" I turn, seeing Henry standing there with two new bottles of tequila I asked him to grab from the back.

"Thanks," I tell him, grabbing them off him. "Oh..if you want to go on your break to talk with your boyfriend I can cover the bar" Henry says, noticing Leo. Leo smirks, while I groan. "So close. We were so close to having an interaction without you pissing me off" I mumble.

Leo laughs while Henry looks confused. "I suggest you walk off now. He's a bit insecure about the fact he loves me" Leo smiles, and Henry nods, walking to the other side of the bar quickly.

"I will kill you," I tell him. "To die at your hands? I'd be honoured" Leo says, and I roll my eyes. I spot his phone lying on the bar top beside his hand, and I quickly grab it, holding it back. "Now, if you promise to quit being a giant pain in my ass all the time, I'm going to smash this- woah, wait what are you-"

I watch in horror as Leo stands up, before jumping over the bar. He smiles, leaning against it with his arms crossed over his chest. "It's quite comfy back here, isn't it?" Leo says, and I shove his phone into his chest. "Take it just go back" I mumble, and he smiles, shaking his head while taking his phone.

"What have I done" I mumble, horrified. How did I not see that coming? I should have thrown his phone and let him go fetch it like a dog while I had the chance.

He smiles at me, and I roll my eyes, ignoring him while getting back to work.

"You know you never answered my question that night," Leo says, moving to stand behind me while I try to focus on wiping the bar since there are no customers here now. I have a five-minute break while they all watch the current fight that's going on.

"And I never will," I tell him, feeling the heat of his body right behind mine. I try to stay focused. "Never say never darling" He chuckles, a bit too close to my ear, and I try with everything in me to hold back from shivering but I fail. Fuck my life.

I look up, seeing Cameron walking over slowly. I quickly call him over.

"I'm not sure I want to be here-" Is what he begins to say, but I interrupt.

"Dont give a fuck. Do me a favour and grab that fire extinguisher and ram it into this asshole's face-" I'm cut off when Leo suddenly places a hand over my mouth, silencing me. I'm now pressed back against his chest as I claw at his hand, calling him every name in the book but it just comes out as muffled sounds.

"Ignore him," Leo says, and Cameron looks between us conflicted. "I'm going to go-.." Cameron mumbles as he takes slow steps backwards.

I shake my head immediately, but I then feel Leo's breath against my ear. "You're certainly a loud one, arent you?" He whispers, and I roll my eyes, slapping his arm while he laughs.

I look to see Cameron now has his back to us, and is walking away. Only then does Leo drop his hand. "You asshole" I scowl, turning around to face him. "I should of bit off your hand just for putting it near me" I shake my head, disappointed in myself.

I get even more disappointed in myself when I realise the position I put myself in. Now, with my back to the crowd, Leo has me pinned against the bar, with a hand on either side of me, caging me in.

"Fuck off" I mumble while he smiles at me, his face a bit too close to mine. As I've said before. It would be a lot easier to hate this motherfucker if he wasn't so damn attractive. The worst part is, he knows it too.

I clear my throat, looking away to the side. But that doesn't last long since Leo is quick to push my face back to look at him. "Don't look away darling," He says with his usual small grin on his face.

And that stupid name- my god. I hate it. And what I hate more is that I don't actually hate it.

My eyes glance down to his lips. The one's that always seem to know how to say the right things. I fucking hate this asshole, I swear.

"My eyes are up here, darling" Leo whispers, and I hum, staring back up at him.

"Believe it or not, I'm aware," I tell him, and he chuckles. Our faces somehow have moved closer together, to a point where it would be so easy- too easy to just-

"I should get back to work boss," I say, and he hums. "You should. I can't have my irreplaceable bartender out of action, now can I?" He asks, and I smile, remembering our conversation the first time we met.

"I've got lemon slices to serve," I tell him, and he laughs, stepping back, allowing me to turn around. I quietly take a deep breath, trying to calm my heart that's beating concerningly fast.

"Four shots please".

And just like that, I'm back to work.
