May
"No, walk home yourself. I'll see you at home," I simply stated. I got in my car, and didn't do anything. I only felt a hot tear all onto my lap. One after another, they began to fall. By now, I'm sobbing, my body shaking from emotion.
Why? Why Moon Goddess? Right now, both of my mates are idiots. Idiots! Seriously, do I want an abusive mate? No. Do I want one that has to feel my touch in order to calm down? No! I could go for time to myself. But wherever I go, someone is there to ruin it. Or... time with my two best friends. I gather myself up, taking a deep breath. As I dial Lena's number, I see Lucas running a hand through his hair looking... guilty? I duck so he doesn't see me, and Lena's voice reaches my ears.
"May?" She asks, concerned.
"Yeah," I sniff.
"Are you okay?"
"No. I need to talk to you and Alex in person."
"Okay. How about your house?" She proposes.
"Sure. I'll pick you up," I say.
"'Kay. See you soon." And she hangs up. I sigh, and drive the route I have had memorized for years. I still feel the tears falling, but I ignore it, along with the hollow feeling in my stomach. It's the same feeling I had when I left Jared to see Lucas on the blind date. My hands shake as I grip the steering wheel with all I've go and let out an agitated shout.
"Why are you making me chose, Moon Goddess?"
"Because I love you, and I want you to be able to fall in love on your own," someone with a melodic voice whispers. I stop driving, and honks erupt from behind me. I look up, down, sideways, and upside down, but no one is there.
"Get a move-on, darling!" A man yells, flipping me off as he speeds past me.
"I was just imagining it. It's okay," I whisper to myself. I start driving again, and try not to imagine who that could have been. I know that no one is in the car with me, and my mom obviously didn't say that through mind link. The Moon Goddess? Ha, yeah right!
Finally, I arrive at Lena and Alex's, and honk my horn to tell them I'm here. They come racing out.
"I call shotgun!" Lena screams in joy, laughing at her brother.
"Uh, no way! I'm heavier!" Alex bickers.
"Too bad, I'm older!" Lena grins.
"Yeah, by nine minutes!" He counters.
"Ha, sucks for you, I'm already in the seat." Lena slides into the seat next to me, and smiles sympathetically. "You okay?"
"No," my bottom lip quivers and the tears threaten to spill out.
"Lena, seriously, why are you in shotgu-May, who the hell made you cry?!" Alex growls with anger.
"I just really want to talk to you guys," I squeak out. "But let's go to my house first."
"Alright. But you better tell me," Alex warns.
"Oh my God Alex, shut up! She can tell us if she wants to or not, she chooses, not you," Lena scolds Alex. "We're here for you, no matter what. You can tell us when you're ready." Lena narrows her eyes at Alex.
"Thanks," I give them a weak smile, and push on the accelerator, speeding away to my house.
"Hey Ms. Laurent," Alex says politely.
"Hey Alex, Lena! How are you guys?" My mom smiles.
"Great! You don't mind Olivia, if we stay here overnight, do you?" Lena asks.
