I duck at the last minute, feeling the knife whiz past my neck. I growl at him, baring my teeth with my canines extended. Derek pulls out another knife from his back pocket with a cunning smile, twirling it by the handle.

"Little sis, this is it. The final battle and one of us has to say goodbye," Derek says, a confident smile on his face.

"Then say goodbye," I bite out and charge at him, shifting, but Derek moves out of the way, three wolves talking his place. I look around, but I'm surrounded by black, gray, and spotted wolves.

"I never said I was the one to fight you, just that I wanted to kill you," Derek smiles, and disappears into the thick wood. I step forward and the other wolves inch closer to me, snarling. The black one barrels towards me, and I open my mouth, letting him come right into my canines. I bite him, blood gushing out of his gut as he howls in pain. The gray one growls, saliva drips out of his mouth and onto the blood stained dirt.

I growl back, smirking. I slowly release the wolf in my mouth, letting him drop dead. The gray one cautiously walks towards me, narrowing its eyes at me. We circle each other, snarling and trying to be intimidating. Suddenly, the gray wolf lunges at me, snapping at my fur. I dodge him, but the spotted wolf catches me, rolling into the ground with me under him. He sinks his teeth into my arm and I whine out in pain, shaking him off of me. I take my paw and push him off as hard as I can and he goes flying into the tree. The gray wolf comes back and I jump up on my paws and get ready to chew him up.

All of a sudden, a shrill, high pitched scream rings in my ears.

"May, no!"

I whip my head at the source and see Emma pointing behind me. I turn around and see a new wolf coming at me. I bite into its neck and rip out his throat, leaving him dripping blood.

I turn back to Emma who is walking backwards in fear at the big wolves from Derek's pack crawling towards her. She looks up, trembling.

Then, with big, huge eyes, she screams, throws her head back and shifts.

No one saw it coming.

For the first time in years, Emma Darting shifted into a werewolf.

I smile, happy she finally got it back. But no way was she going to lose her wolf to Derek again, or anyone. She looks at me, paralyzed. Then, as if something inside of her snapped, she broke out into a run, smashing into the two wolves. She rips them apart, limb by limb, maybe even saving me from a certain death.

She growls at all the other wolves in the woods, sending them as far away as they could get.

I admire her purely white form, with black tipped paws and green gold speckled eyes. I grin at her and she smiles back in excitement.

'Come on, Emma. We need to get as far away as we can. Let's go to the field. We can try to find Lucas and the others,' I speak into her mind, causing her to jump a little.

'Okay, let's go.'

We break into a run, the wind going through our fur and blowing past us. I run faster, hoping to catch a scent of anyone we know. Emma surpasses me, laughing with pure joy and happiness. I don't think I've ever seen her look this happy. We needed some sort of good on this horrible, death filled day.

Going through the opening of the wood, we arrive at the field.

A mass of bodies surrounded by pools of thick, red blood. I gasp, and shift to find someone.

"Lucas! Jared! Where are you?" I step over a body, until I see the facial features become familiar.

Mr. Darting.

"Emma, go inside the pack house, now. I'll see you in there," I command at her.

"But why?" She says after shifting back.

"Just go!" She scurries away, not seeing her dead father lying so peacefully on the grass.

This was all Derek's fault, and he was going to pay.

"Damn you, Derek. Go to hell!" I shout into the air.

"I see you've survived. I guess I have to do it myself if I want it to be done right."

HEYYYYYYYYYYYY

Long time no write! I am seriously getting so over this book, and I can't wait until I can start a new one! This chapter was so short, among all the others, but I promise to finish the book by the end of this month. Yes, this means I will update whenever I can and feel like it, so that means updates will be scattered. I love you all and thank you so so so much for putting up with me!
