Chapter Fourteen

May

Lucas is so hot. Like, super hot.

"Do not throw me in- LUCAS!" I shriek. He pushes me underwater, laughing. I come up, hitting his chest. Lucas easily grabs my wrists, stopping me.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you, Pup," he growls huskily. "It's a real turn on."

"Well then," I smirk, hitting his chest once more. He takes my wrists and brings me closer, leaning down to kiss me slowly. I kiss him first, wrapping my legs around his waist to get a better angle to kiss him. He grabs my waist and pushes me up onto his chest, then up all the way so I can't kiss him. I scream happily.

I fall into a state of bliss.

"Lucas, tonight was...perfect. Thank you so much," I smile at my mate. My mate.

"Of course, Pup," Lucas takes my hand and kisses my knuckles. "Now...what is up with your security?" My smile falters. Crap.

"Umm..." I pull away form his hands and twiddle my fingers. The front door opens.

"We are back at...one am?! May!" Max comes out. "May, I was worried sick and I had the guards out looking for you because of Derek." Max stops once he sees me.

"Umm...Lucas, this is my brother, Max," I introduce them. "Max, this is Lucas. He's my...other mate? Its complicated."

"Come inside, Lucas. Let's have a talk."

Oh. The big brother talk. But first...

"Who's Derek?"

"Well... I'll explain that later," May looks at me apologetically.

"Uh, okay." Max leads me into May's house.

"May, go take a shower. I need to talk to Lucas. Alone." Well shit.

"Max, its fine-"

"Go. Now." Max demands. May glares at him.

"I'm only going because I want to. Tell him about Derek, I'm too tired." May goes upstairs, but not before placing a kiss on my lips.

"Lucas." Max nods curtly at me.

"Max," I mimic him.

"First, what's your position? I mean, May's really serious about this Beta stuff."

"Alpha of Ares," I smirk. Max's face looks surprised, but he quickly hides it.

"Oh, well, just because you're an Alpha doesn't mean you won't get the big brother talk. Rule number one-- do not touch May while I'm in the same house. Like you just did. Number two-- don't make her cry. Three-- protect her, which you won't have much trouble, Alpha. And four-- no sex. Never. Not until she's one hundred and fifty." Max finishes.

"Dude, no offense, but what do I do with her?" I ask.

"I don't know, just don't do any touching, and you'll be fine in my book. I gave this same talk with Jared. I don't suppose you know why May has two mates, do you?" Max replies.

"Yeah, Moon Goddess's descendant. You know, the legend?"

"Holy shit, she's part of that?" His eyes widen.

"Yeah. Obviously you aren't human, so who's the human?" I ask, curiosity getting the better of me.

"Alright, sit down. This will be a long talk." We settle down in the living room. "May's the youngest, sixteen years old. I'm twenty two, and Derek is twenty. Derek is human. Derek also tried to kill May when she was thirteen. He cut her neck with silver. Luckily, I was there and stopped him. He was jealous he couldn't be as strong as us, and so he became a hunter and disappeared off the radar. Now, after two and a half years, he's back. He was spotted yesterday, actually, and we have security on high alert." Max says. I growl at the thought of someone hurting my mate.

"We have to kill him," I state.

"We've been trying to catch him, but we can't. Now, we know he's here. It's crucial that you protect her at all costs, because--don't tell her this--she's still sixteen and hunters can kill easily because they have silver to use. She's my little sister, I don't want her fighting-" he was cut short by her beautiful voice.

"Max. Please, I can take on any male in our whole pack, and I can take Derek. I can hold my own. Dad trained me to fight better than anyone. So stop protecting me. I can take it," May says. I immediately rush over to her and pull her against me. "Uh, hi?"

"He tried to kill you," I growl. Her hands fly up to her neck unconsciously, and she drops her hands. I trace her scar I haven't noticed until now. I inhale deeply, and stop.

"May?"

"Hmm?"

"That scent on your neck...it smells familiar."

"Oh, Derek did some weird thing when he cut me. He pushed his thumb into my cut, putting his scent there. It's stupid because we can get him because of his scent, but we can't," May shrugs.

"That's strange. I've smelled it before." I ponder over the thought, until I had an idea.

"Max?" I start.

"Yes?"

"I have an idea that will keep May safe," I say.

"Really? You think I'm not capable?" May asks.

"No, its just that it would be easier to not put you in a dangerous situation," I defend.

"Any day now, Lucas," Max says.

"She will move in with me. In my pack house."
