Jared

I froze. Oh shit, Maya is back. I was completely telling the truth, about how Maya was lying. May stiffens, obviously annoyed at Maya. She pulls back from kissing me and sighs.

"Umm... Kissing Jared?" I almost have to choke back a laugh.

"Yeah, but why are you kissing him?" She screeches.

"Because she's my mate," I say. She has a furious look on her face.

"But you were totally into me this morning! Did you know that, May?" Maya questions, pursing her lips and putting her hands on her hips.

"Yeah, but we got that all cleared up. You know, as you saw earlier," May smirks.

"Well, then what about the Alpha of Ares?" Maya shoots out, yet I'm still not so certain how she knows already.

"We also have that cleared up," I tell her, pulling May into my side.

"So you know how he drove her to school today?" Maya scrunches her nose up in confusion. No.

"Yeah," I grit out.

"And the hot make out session they had in his Volvo?" Maya smiles. No. I ball up my fist by May's side.

"Jared told you, we have it all cleared up now," May says, obviously annoyed at Maya.

"So you were cheating on Jared? Your mate?" Maya questions further. May tenses, not wanting to answer the question.

"Please keep your nose out of other people's business. Thanks," May says snarkily.

"Oh, so you don't deny that you were cheating on Jared?" Maya presses.

"It's not like that," May says very quietly, after a moment of silence.

"Say that again, bitch?" Maya smirks. May drops her head, trying to hide the tears glimmering in her eyes.

"You are such a slut. Once I tell the whole school this, everyone will think you're a whore, even Jared will turn against you. Your brother will hate you, and your stupid parents too. Or should I say, parent," Maya laughs. I try to control my anger as May starts trembling in my arms. She turns and starts to cry in my shirt. "I can't believe I was friends with a cry baby like you a couple years ago."

"Stop," I growl.

"You're standing up for the bitch?"

"STOP!" A fourth voice booms. "DO NOT CALL MY DAUGHTER THAT CRUDE WORD!" I freeze. That is definitely not May's mom.

"M-m-mmooo-o-n G-g-goddess. I am so sorry, please forgive me!" Maya literally goes down on her hands and knees.

"STAND UP!" The apparently Moon Goddess shouts. Maya scrambles up. "You will NEVER say anything bad about May. You will need to pay your debts to the people you've hurt over the years. Leave." Maya runs like there's no tomorrow. The figure turns to us and smiles before vanishing.

"I'm her daughter? I thought I was just her descendant." She looks up at me, blinking. She still has a few tears on her cheeks, so I brush them away with my thumb.

"I guess." I rub her back. "You want me to drive you home?"

"Oh, shoot!" May pulls away from me. She rushes to her locker and pulls out a couple of books while stuffing them in her bag. She sniffles and runs back to me.

"What?" I ask.

"I was supposed to catch a ride with someone. I'll see you tomorrow? Bye!" She smiles and kisses my cheek. "Thank you." May runs out of the school, then waits in front of the parking lot. A red Porsche pulls up and she waves at a girl with blond hair and high cheekbones, from what I can see. They sit in there for a while until the Porsche races away, definitely going over the speed limit. But the worst part of it all, was that it smelled like the Ares pack.
