Chapter Seven

Lucas

I had gone over to her house to apologize.

"I'm so sorry May. My wolf was in control, I never meant to hurt you," I told her truthfully.

"It's okay, I guess. But I need to tell you something. I need you to agree to this, because I want to give both you and Jared a chance," May started. "I want to date you two at the same time. I don't want to make the wrong choice and judge you just by how long I've known you two." I growled at the thought of Jared touching her.

"No!" I snarled.

"Alright, then I guess I'll have to reject you..."

"What?!" I asked her with panic.

"Well, you slapped me, so right now, if I were to chose one of you, I'd chose Jared because I like him more. If you agree, you could change my mind..." She's right. I can definitely make her fall in love with me. I don't want Jared to end up with her.

"Fine," I agreed reluctantly.

"Yay!" She smiled, and all I wanted to do is kiss her. I leaned forward, and-

"Stop." May had stepped back, shaking her head. "Just because I'm giving you a chance, doesn't mean I won't forget that you tried to make out with me against my will or you hit me. So you have to wait."

And then I left. I wanted to ask her out, but I didn't think that was the best time. I will tonight, though.

"Hey, Chloe?" I call out from my office.

"Yeah?" She walks in with her mate, my Beta Josh.

"I need your help. Well, not me, but my mate. I need you to help her get ready for a, uh, a date."

"AHHHHH ALPHA LUCAS HAS A MATE OH MY GOSH I NEED A GIRLFRIEND, FINALLY!" Chloe screams.

"Uh, yeah. I have to ask her out first," I chuckle nervously.

"You haven't asked her out yet? I expected that you had already marked her," Chloe replies.

"Oh, yeah, about that," I start, and scratch the back of my neck. "Uh, she kind of has two mates. And she's the Moon Goddess's descendant." Josh and Chloe's jaws drop, shocked.

"Wait, so our future Luna could be the Moon Goddess's descendant?" Josh asks.

"Well, assuming she chooses me, of course," I say.

"Of course she would chose you! You're an Alpha, and not bad looking..." Chloe trails off. Josh growls. "I'm just stating a fact. I would never go out with him though. I love you, and only you." Then, they start making out.

"Uh, guys? I'm in here too, you know." They pull apart, Chloe's face flushed.

"Wait, when can I meet her?" Chloe asks.

"Well, I want you to help her get ready for the date, I'm going to take her out to dinner, so it will be fancy. That way, you two can get to know each other."

"Perfect!"Chloe smiles. Now I just have to ask her out.

5:50pm at May's house

I knock at her door, getting ready to ask her out. The date will be tomorrow, at a really fancy Italian restaurant.

"Lucas? What are you doing here?" She appears in the doorway, wearing a black, sleeved dress and her hair into a side-bun thing. She has a chunky blue necklace and matching earrings, and the same colored nails and heels. Really high heels that make me want to take her right now.

"Are you going somewhere? Do you want me to come back later?"

"Well, umm... well this is kinda awkward. Jared was going to pick me up. For a date."

"Oh," is all I can say. Dammit. I'm too late.

"But he's picking me up in ten minutes. I'm ready and stuff, I can spare a few minutes." She smiles, and opens the door, inviting me in. "So, what did you want to talk about?" What do I say?

"Do you want to go out to dinner tomorrow? I can pick you up at five thirty, and I can send over my Beta's mate to help you, she really wants to meet you. If you have plans tomorrow that's okay, I guess. We can always reschedule. What do you think? If it's too soon for dinner then we can just hang out, meet some people. If you think it's too soon for meeting people, then we can always just hang out, if you want. It's up to you..." Then she starts laughing.

"I'm sorry, it's just, you're rambling. It's so funny!" She giggles, and I laugh with her. "I would love to go to dinner with you tomorrow. I want to meet your Beta female. It's time I start getting werewolf friends."

"Really?"

"Sure, I want to get to know you better." She smiles. The doorbell rings, as May starts to open the door. She curses, then looks back at me with wide eyes.

"It's Jared," she whispers. "Do you want to go out the back, or..."

"No. I need to learn to have a civilized conversation with him," I tell her.

"Umm... alright." She sighs, and opens the door. "Hey, Jared."

"Hey. You look really beautiful, May," he kisses her cheek, and I growl.

"Hey there, Jared," I step into his line of sight. He stiffens, obviously affected by my presence. Good.

"He just came over to talk. Right, Lucas?" May smiles back at me, then to Jared.

"Yeah," I nod.

"Well, that's nice. Ready to go out?" Jared snakes his arm around May. He's trying to make me jealous, I know that.

"Yeah. See you tomorrow, Lucas?" She smiles at me, trying to release the tension in the room.

"Sure, Pup," I kiss her cheek on the way out. Two can play at that game, Jared. I take my time going back to my car, and look over my shoulder on my way out. Jared is kissing her, May's body pressed up against the side of her house. I leave, clenched fists and biting back growls, before I kill Jared.
