"Lonely whore!"
"Slutty mistress!" Nina yelled back at me on our jog that quickly became a name riot.
I did not want to have responsibility today so I ran and I ran. I did not want to be a victim today, so I called my best friend and we ran two miles. And look where it got us. I might've been running. But I was still running in circles.
"You know what Ross has ruined for me! Everything! I used to love everything and now look at me!"
"Since when is Austin gay? I mean, he dated you! No offense!"
"None taken." I hunched over holding my knees and trying heavily to catch my breath again but it just got worse. "I used to be so bright and shiny. Now I cry myself to sleep at night like a nun."
Nina looked over at me cautiously. "I loved Austin... and what am I to him now?"
"Look," I said realizing I had laid across the grass where Nina soon joined beside me. I felt like I was going to die if I didn't catch my breath but I managed to speak anyway. Everything I did lately was managed. "You might not be much to Austin, but you're everything to me."
"You wouldn't last a day with them Dana. They'd make fun of you in seconds." Unfortunately after telling Dana about my team, she thought if she was in my place, she'd have that best seller done right away. (Which is not true) Then Laura came up somehow in the conversation and of course my eyes rolled.
"I don't care about what Laura did... I don't understand her... but anyway she can kiss my ass." I said mad. Why does everybody always want to bring up some thing that will ruin your spirit? Ruin you, in fact...
What makes you weak in this city is what they use against you like they knew your whole story. Just like the things that make you different. Though it takes believing them, to let them win.
"Oh please, Allie had called you... I just wanted to know if you we're crying as usual," I could see her smirk through the phone. "And Bambie, I will be there Tuesday to show you how it's done."
"You know what Dana; I would normally not want you around because---"
"Shut up!" And my phone went boop which meant she hung up. I looked at my phone in anger. "No, she didn't!"// and that's how all this whole mess started.
That Tuesday//At Meeting
I walked in confidently with Dana, Allie, Laura, and Austin as the first look I got was Santana's eyes growing big.
Dana and Allie could call short breaks to come to New York, or their home since they ran the label anyways. I brought Austin along due to him offering, but even though Laura didn't know I had seen that broadcast, I said she could come along, and decided to just forget it. I've been fighting with her since forever, and at this point, I'm just going to work on me.
