"Is that really necessary?" Stiles asked, not sure if this was a joke or not, his eyes following Derek around their bedroom as he tried to find a tie which he couldn't seem to find for the life of him.

They had literally spent the entire day getting ready for this dinner.

No one in the house was thrilled about it and the house was filled with grumbled complaints about it.

Talia, even though she looked the most composed out of them all, didn't look all that happy about it either.

The poor woman had spent hours on the food, making sure everything was alright and ready.

Stiles, after spending years cooking meals for the starving wolves in his pack, had developed some cooking skills which he kindly offered to Talia.

And the woman had never seemed so relieved in her life.

Quickly saying yes, the two of them cooked together for over an hour before they needed to get ready as the dreaded hour of the relatives' arrival was nearing more and more.

"I'm afraid so." Derek replied head buried into his dresser, his face showing relief when he finally got a hold of the fabric. "Unless you want to face the wrath of my beloved mother and the judgement of the prick family." he told the brunette, putting his tie around his neck and starting to tie it.

Stiles watched him struggle for a while, the fabric tangled ungracefully on the collar of the white dress shirt hugging the wolf's chest perfectly.

From the looks of it, it was no doubt chosen and approved by none other than Talia herself and Stiles had to agree that it suited Derek like a glove.

The brunette soon took pity on the struggling wolf and took a few steps to join him before slapping his hands off the tie and saving the fabric from his inexperienced hands.

Stiles had the chance to learn this with his father when he was younger and so he took the tie and tied it successfully, adjusting it so that it looked perfect before putting the collar back down over the tie and brushing the invisible dust off of the wolf's shoulders.

Once he was satisfied with the way it looked, the brunette glanced up at the wolf only to realise that Derek had been so quiet because he had been busy watching Stiles.

The brunette blushed, in spite of him, and cleared his throat, taking a step back and looking away.

"How do I look?" Derek asked once he had put on his black suit jacket and Stiles briefly eyed him before looking away again.

"Not bad." he mumbled despite him wanting to keep quiet.

The wolf looked extremely good in a suit and he couldn't help but wonder how future Derek would look in one.

The sight would most likely be Stiles' death and so the brunette decided it was probably best to not find out.

Derek held back an amused smile before holding his arm out for Stiles to take as he opened the door with his free hand.

"Shall we?" he asked in a teasing manner which really shouldn't have annoyed Stiles as much as it did.

"We shall," the brunette replied, putting both hands in his suit's pants' pockets. "separately." he added as he walked past the wolf, head held high and leaving the room while listening to the wolf laughing loudly behind him as he followed.

Upon arriving downstairs, Derek had caught up to him with an amused grin and Stiles rolled his eyes before getting an armful of Cora who climbed up his body like the little pup she was and wrapped her arms around his neck.
