"What's going on?"

It was 9 am and Stiles had only just woken up. Dragging his feet to the kitchen, he was far from thinking he would find the happy hale family walking their asses off, going in every direction to prepare things for something Stiles was unaware of. Hearing his voice, the hales turned around and greeted him with smiles and waves.

"Good morning, love!" Derek exclaimed, walking into the kitchen and kissing Stiles' cheeks as he passed by him while holding a huge box. "I've got it, dad."

"Perfect! Let's set this up quickly before it's too late." Connor said, looking to be filled with energy as he clapped excitedly in his hands and took the box from his son. Walking out of the kitchen with Derek and Peter, Stiles was still left completely confused as he watched the whole family busying themselves while he stood there.

"It's family day today." Laura was the one to explain when she noticed his confusion and Stiles sent her a grateful look. "Nobody is allowed to make plans on that day and we spent time together."

"Isn't that basically what we do everyday?"

"It's different today because it's bonding time. We shift for a while and allow our animal side to take over. Then, when our wolves deemed they have bonded enough, they let us shift back and then we spend the rest of the day having fun. Dad always sets up the swimming pool and we do a big barbecue. It's tradition."

"Sounds like fun.."

"What is it?"

"What am I supposed to do while you're all in your wolf forms?"

"It doesn't matter that you're human, dear." Talia butted into the conversation as she walked into the room and pecked his forehead affectionately. "You are part of this pack and mated to one of our wolves. You need to have bonding time with the wolves as well, it will strengthen the bond. It's extremely important." she reassured as she brushed her fingers through his hair gently. Talia waited for everyone else to get out of the room and turned to Stiles again. "Plus, if you allow me to give you the bite in the future, all the bonding time you've done with us will prepare your body to accept the shift more easily than it should. Have you thought about it, dear?"

"I have but I'm still a bit unsure. I really want it, it'd mean I'd be able to feel the bond not only with every single one of you but also with Derek which I really want..." he sighed, clearly uncertain about what to do. "But, what if I end up handling the shift badly? What if I get crazy and kill people? I don't want to hurt anybody, Talia. I know how easily a wolf can lose control. It scares me."

"That's why we spend so much time training them, dear." she explained in a soft voice. "It's not easy to get control over it but it's not supposed to be. You have to struggle, that's how life is. And it's completely fine if you have some difficulties, it means you'll have to train harder. And then, when you finally get control over it, it's the best feeling ever. Stiles, I don't want you to feel pressured over this. I know what I'm asking for is purely selfish of me but I can't help it. I really want you to be officially part of my family."

"It's okay to be selfish sometimes, isn't it?" the brunette smiled back and Talia's grin widened considerably before pulling him in her embrace.

"C'mon, let's get this day going." she told him as she dragged him out of the house and out in the backyard by the hand.

Connor and Peter were busy struggling with the swimming pool while Eviana and Derek were preparing all the snacks for the day. Laura and the twins were off to the side, preparing the space for the shift and the kids were busy playing around, running in all directions and looking to be overexcited.
