"y-You're surprisingly a good cook."

Why?

"t-Thanks... h-Haru."

Why?

"Haha! Good job, son! You just earned a praise from your girlfriend."

Why is my dad here?! Why out of all time?! I know that he doesn't really have any sense of time but this timing is just too perfect! Why?!

It was very unexpected. The moment I woke up, I realised that Haru was not by my side so I figured she would have woken up by now so I walked down the stairs. To my surprise, no, to my utter despair, I saw Haru together with my dad. I could tell that Haru felt awkward and I felt so as well.

It didn't take long after introducing Haru to my dad that dad questioned our relationship. I really didn't want to lie to my dad so I told him that we were now together. As in being, boyfriend and girlfriend.

I could be imagining it when I thought I saw my dad dropped his jaw for a while but he was really happy of the news. Much to my surprise.

Although he was momentarily serious about trusting me to not had done anything to her while she had spent the night. In fact, he really did not felt like talking about it.

Saying that "it's not good to question the matters between two lovers!"

I'm not really sure if either he was being considerate or he was making fun of me.

"Anyway, how many dates have you been to?"

What happened to not questioning matters between two lovers?! Don't go back on your own words, dad!

"I'll have you know, I used to go to so many dates with your mom. I can tell you all the good spots and things to do on date if you want."

"I refuse to hear those."

"Ah, my son, as straightforward as ever."

Seriously, my dad is as carefree and as eccentric as he can be. Mom was the same. I sometimes wonder where did I get my personality from.

All that I know was that I was destined to be comfortable with weird people. As rude as those sentences were. It's the truth.

"..date.."

"Huh?"

Is it just me, or did I just heard Haru muttering the word date? Somehow I have a bad feeling of this. Really bad.

"That's it!"

"W-what is?!"

"Kyou! Let's go on a date today!"

"Say what?!"

"A date! Today!"

"But!"

"No buts! There's no school today as well! It's perfect! Thanks, Kyou's dad!"

After finishing our breakfast, we went to the front door to see Haru off. Both me and Haru promised to meet at the station two hours from now. Which would mean I have two hours left to spend my time with whatever money I have left.

"Well, I'll be going then. Thank for allowing me to spend the night. And Kyou, you better listen to every advice from your dad! I don't want our first date to be a lame one."

With those parting words. She left the house. My dad was about to say something but I immediately cut him off.

"We just became official not too long ago and I'm not going to listen to your advice."

"Haha. That hurts, Kyouhei. How could you do that to your dad?"

He gave me a look that was asking for pity as he shed fake tears. In response, I gave him the look that a person would give when the are tired of dealing with this nonsense much to my dad's despair.
