My body laid limp on this searing hot road, the sun mocks me as it glares it's blazing light on me. My eyesight had become quite blurry but I could still make up those feets gathering around me. A shadow of a person was cast on me when I looked up... my lifeless body was brought into embrace by the figure and I could barely make up the sound of a wailing and soon, my life ended.
Was what I had thought would have happened next...
I was engulfed by a complete darkness, void of life. I was floating in it. All my senses refuses to cooperate. I could do nothing but just float endlessly, having no clue as to why I am in such a place. However, that all changed when a tiny glint of light sparkled amidst this darkness above me and it soon shines brighter, blinding me.
I opened my eyes soon after I was in an empty room. Well not completely empty. It was decorated with furnitures and it felt spacious even though it is shaped like a square.
The sound of the door behind me sliding me caught my attention and I swiftly twist my body to look at the new arrivals.
Three awfully familiar figures walked in with a gloomy look.. no, gloomy would be an underestimation.. despair. Yes, their face were full of despair. They continued their lifeless march and one of them just so happened to walk directly in front of me. I braced myself for impact but that person merely walked through me, much to my shock.
They stopped in their tracks when a table was present in front of them. Standing ever so firmly on top of the table was a picture frame. On the picture frame was none other than a picture of a girl. She looked so fragile and pale but her smile was so warm and full of life.
The boy that had walked past me clutched the picture frame with trembling hands and was trying his hardest to not let that welled up tears to fall down. The other two occupants of this room, a girl had hold on to another boy for support as her head was rested on his shoulder that had begun to be getting wet. I know naught of the three and yet, this very sight breaks me. My hand had unconsciously reached out to them and that was before I realised a glass mirror present to my left.
My eyes widen in horror when I realised that I had short brown hair and red blazing eyes. Much like the girl in the picture.... that was when everything came crashing to me violently like being crashed by a train itself.
"... why did things have to turn out like this.....?..
Mei..."
Mei Kamiya. A high school sophomore, president of the Literature Club. That is who I am. A small petite girl who had so little yet cherished and out going friends. The three people in front of me were my best friends, also members of the Literature Club.
All my memories became more vivid as time feels like slowing itself. Then, the world came to a halt. I remembered everything... especially the memory of my death that had burned itself into my heart.
I remembered the blazing hot sun and the sweat that began forming on my forehead. I remembered the cake I had in tow, it was for our club's first year anniversary. I remembered being pushed around as I flail helplessly against the crowd. I remembered the ear-piercing screech ehcoing throughout the area, the sound resulting from a large four wheeler losing control. I remembered being pushed to the ground by the crowd in panic. The cake having been smothered along the ground by the stampede. I remembered as I got to my feet, a large shadow was cast against me.... and by time I opened my eyes, I felt numb and I was on the searing hot road.
I wonder how long time has passed since I stood on this very school grounds? I could not passed on. I realised that. The world was experiencing joy by torturing me like this. I could do nothing but wander around aimlessly, not able to interact with anything.
