"My name is Mei Kamiya, it's a pleasure to meet you."

I bowed from my seat to the rest of class but deep down, my heart was beating furiously. I was never one to go well with crowds. Just the thought of being the center of attentions pales me. It was the same at that very moment. I wanted it to end as quick as possible and bury myself where no one could see me. I really did feel like that. When I heard the sounds of claps echoeing the room, I knew my turn had ended and immediately I slumped on the seat with a quiet sigh of relief.

When class had ended, I, who feared any social contact with anyone immediately and discretely made my escape to the place of sanctuary. The clubroom that belonged to the Literature Club. Even before entering the school, I had done quite the number of intensive researching to find the most ideal club for me and I found this club by chance. It was about to be disbanded due to lack of members for three years straight, but after much begging from my side, I was able to keep the club alive so as I do not use the club as a mean to slack.

This kind of lifestyle in school had become a norm to me immediately. I stayed quite in class and tried my hardest to keep myself isolated by intensively reading books and during breaks and such, I would dash to the clubroom to have a moment of peace. I knew that I would be a loner in this school with such lifestyle but the very thought of being around people scares me!

I had resolved myself to continue the life as a loner for the rest of my high school days but that was completely broken when during my second year, a new member joined the club.

His name is Kyouhei Yagami. He had an intimidating vibe around him but for some reason, I gained the courage to talk to him and when our conversation ended, I had thought to myself..

'Maybe I have finally made my first friend in high school!'

I was very estactic with the thought and I was very surprised to learn how approachable Kyouhei was and even more surprised to learn that he was my neighbour and my classmate! He was also the boy that accidentaly bumped into me during the first day in my secind year, the boy that I had been to apologize to.

Time passed and before I knew it, more member joined the club and each of them had unique traits of their own and they were all very friendly. I was happy with my life as of then and I really wished to spent more days together with them...

So I thought, when one day that happened.

It went by in flash. First, I knew that I was looking at the pool of blood that was forming under his limp body and the next thing I realised, I was already looking at him all bandaged up and was soundly sleeping on the hospital bed. It was not long after that he woke up but instead of asking of looking at himself, he woke up in a jolt and immediately shouted a name foreign to all of us.

"Haru!"

"Kyouhei-kun?"

"Onii-chan?"

Kyouhei turned around to look at us but his eyes shocked me to the core. His eyes was filled with sadness and despair. He looked lost and was desperately turning around as if he was searching for something.

"Haru! Where is Haru?!"

I had never heard anyone of that name before but the way Kyouhei said it was like he was expecting us to know. Never had I heard him sound so scared in my life in the short time I have known him. Everyone clearly looked troubled and confused. Seeing as there was no one speaking, Sora took the initiative.

"Who is Haru?"

"What? What are you talking about, Sora?! Haru! Haruhi Ishida! She is the same age as us! A member of the Literature Club! Heck, she is your childhood friend, Sora!"
